बदाम राणी गुलाम चोर (Badam Rani Gulam Chor)

सिनेमाची गोष्ट आहे तीन मित्रांची. तिघे मित्र एकाच मोठ्या घरात राहत असतात. घरचे नाव असते, "अनब्रेकेबल". यातील एकाचे टोपण नाव असते "चाकू". हा एका गॅरेज मध्ये नोकरी करत असतो. दुसरा असतो पुस्तक, हा एका कॉलेज मध्ये प्रोफेसर असतो. तिसरा असतो माकड, हा एका न्यूज चॅनेल मध्ये नोकरीला असतो. हे तिघे एकमेकांना टोपण नावानेच हाका मारत असतात. प्रत्येकाची अशी विचित्र टोपण नावे देखील त्यांच्या स्वभाव वैशिष्ट्यामुळे ठेवलेली असतात. चाकू हा कधी न सुधारणारा, बिनधास्त स्वभावाचा असतो. त्याचे असे नाव पडण्याचे कारण म्हणजे सगळ्या शस्त्रांची उत्क्रांती झाली. पण चाकू हा कायम चाकूच राहिला. चाकू हे पात्र देखील तसेच आहे. प्रोफेसर हा खूप पुस्तके वाचत असतो आणि कुठलीही गोष्ट कधीही चूक सांगत नाही, पुस्तकी ज्ञान नेहमी पाजळतो. तर माकड, हा न्यूज चॅनेल मध्ये असतो, तिथे कायम बातम्या मिळत नाही, तेव्हा बातम्या तयार करणे हा त्याचा मुळ स्वभाव असतो त्यामुळे त्याचे नाव माकड असे पडते. आता या चाकुला गाडी दुरुस्त करायला आलेली एक खूप आकर्षक तरुणी आवडू लागते व तो तिला घरी बोलावतो. ती या तिघांची नावे ऐकून सांगते की माझे नाव पेन्सिल. पेन्सिल म्हणजे जिने लिहिलेले कधीही पुसता येते, कायम असे काहीच नाही. कारण भूतकाळात केलेली कुठलीच विधाने ती लक्षात ठेवत नाही व त्याची जबाबदारी घेत नाही.

पेन्सिल घरात आल्यावर या तिघांच्याही मनात तिच्या विषयी ओढ निर्माण होते. खरेतर चाकूने पहिला नंबर लावलेला असतो. कारण तिला तो घरी यायला निमंत्रण देतो त्यावेळेस त्याने या दोघांना सांगितले असते की मला पेन्सिलीशी लग्न करायचे आहे. पण पेन्सिल घरी आल्यावर पुस्तक त्याच्या बुद्दीमात्तेच्या जोरावर चाकुशी वाद घालतो आणि म्हणतो कि जर का तू तिला अजून पर्यंत लग्नाबद्दल सांगितले नसशील तर मी देखील लग्नाच्या स्पर्धेमध्ये उभा आहे. चाकू सुरवातीला खूप चिडतो. पण नंतर सावरतो. एक दिवस सकाळी सकाळी अचानक पेन्सिल घरी येते. चाकू आणि पुस्तकाची स्पर्धा लागते, प्रथम चाकू म्हणतो कि मला तुझ्याशी लग्न करायचे आहे, तसेच लगेच पुस्तक देखील ते म्हणतो. पेन्सिल आश्चर्याने माकडाकडे बघते, माकड म्हणतो मला यात इन्टरेस्ट नाही.

मग माकड आणि पेन्सिल एक डाव रचतात. ते ठरवतात कि पेन्सिल, चाकू व पुस्तकाची परीक्षा घेईल. त्यासाठी पहिल्या दिवशी चाकुबरोबर, दुसऱ्या दिवशी पुस्तकाबरोबर व तिसऱ्या दिवशी चाकू व पुस्तक बरोबर दिवस घालवेल. आणि अशी दोन आवर्तने होतील. अर्थात परीक्षक म्हणून माकड बरोबर असेलच. या स्पर्धेमध्ये काही नियम असतील आणि त्या नियमांचे काटेकोर पालन होईल. स्पर्धेमध्ये पेन्सिल दोघांना काही प्रश्न विचारेल, त्या प्रश्नांना दिलेल्या उत्तरावरून पेन्सिल कोणाशी लग्न करायचे ते ठरवेल. आता या स्पर्धेत काय होते व पेन्सिल कोणाशी लग्न करते, त्यानंतर पेन्सिलीच्या आयुष्यात काय बदल होतात, त्या बदलांमुळे दुसऱ्या उमेदवारांच्या मनात काय येते व तो काय प्लॅन करतो. माकड त्याच्या स्वभावानुसार कश्या बातम्या बनवतो. ह्या सगळ्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे तुम्हाला "बदाम राणी गुलाम चोर" या सिनेमात मिळतील.

या तीन मित्रांच्या स्टोरीबरोबरच राजकारणातील एक गोष्ट यात गुंफण्याचा यात प्रयत्न केला आहे. दोन प्रतिस्पर्धी, मुख्यमंत्र्याच्या उमेदवारीसाठी प्रयत्न करत असतात, त्यात जुन्या उमेदवाराचा पराभव होतो व नवीन उमेदवार निवडून येतो. व मग मिडिया कशी या दोघांना प्रतिक्रिया देण्यासा भाग पाडते. जनता या सगळ्या गोंधळात कशी पिचून गेलेली असते, हे यात गुंफण्याचा प्रयत्न केलेला आहे. सिनेमातील पात्रांची खरी नावे कळत नाहीत. सिनेमा मध्यंतरापर्यंत चांगला वाटतो. त्यातील काही विनोद चांगले वाटले. पण नंतर नंतर कंटाळा येतो. या सिनेमा सतीश राजवाडे यांनी दिग्दर्शित केलेला आहे. यांनी २-३ खूप छान सिरीयल काढल्या होत्या त्यामुळे या सिनेमाकडून खूप अपेक्षा होती. पण ती अपेक्षा पूर्ण होत नाही. सगळे कलाकार त्यांच्या त्यांच्या भूमिकेत उत्तम आहेत. पण त्यांचा एकत्रित प्रभाव पडलेला नाही. एकूण सुरवातीला खूप उत्साहने सिनेमा बघायला सुरवात केली आणि शेवट पर्यंत उत्साह मावळून गेलेला होता. सिनेमा बघण्यास हरकत नाही पण खूप अपेक्षा ठेवू नये.

This is a story of three friends living together in a big house they names "Unbreakable". All three friends have nicknames. All the names are for a reason and describe their nature and behavior. First one is Chaku or Knife. He is car mechanic and own a garage. Second one is Pustak or Book. He is a studious person and works as a professor in a college. Third one is Makad or Monkey, who works for a news agency. All three call each other with the nicknames only.

Knife is called so because he is person who will not change and is not scared of anything. All the weapons have changed and improved, but knives have remained like they were for several centuries. Book is very studious and is always busy reading something. He is never wrong and has answer with reference for all the discussions. Monkey is working for news agency and when there are no news to cover he is good in making up the news.

Once Knife falls for a girl, who come to his garage for repairing her car. She is really cute and Knife likes her very much. He manages to invite her to his home. When she visits their home and was introduced to all three of them. She tells them that her name is Pencil, the reason being whatever she writes can be erased quickly and she does not care a dime about what she said the earlier day, and never take a responsibility of what she said earlier.

After meeting Pencil, all three are in the competition. Logically Knife is the guy, because he has met her first and invited her to their home. He has also made it clear before inviting her, to other two friends that he plans to propose her for marriage soon. But once Book meets Pencil, he starts using his intellect to convince Knife that since he has not proposed her already, Book also can jump into the competition. Knife is really upset with this situation, but then decides to take it cool. One day Pencil arrives to their home without notice. Knife immediately tells her that he want's to marry her. Book without wasting any time declares the same intention. Pencil loks at Monkey with surprise. Monkey just replies "I am not interested".

Then Monkey and Pencil get together and make a plan. They decide to test Knife and Book to decide who is suitable to marry Pencil. On day one Pencil will spend time with Knife on second day she will spend time with Book on day three she spend time with both Knife and Book. This will be repeated one more time. Monkey will be there all along to watch over. There will be some ground rules set and need to be followed very carefully. Pencil will ask few questions to both of them and take a decision based on all this.How does this whole plan work out, who does she decids to marry at the end, what does the other person do about it, how Monkey makes news stories out of it needs to be undestood and enjoyed by watching movie "Badam Rani Gulam Chor".

In this movie, with the story of these three friends there is another story woven, which is of two politicians. There are two leaders of opposing parties in the election, The ruling one gets defeated and a new chief minister takes charge. Monkey as a media man and his competitors are using different tricks to make news stories out of this. Interesting part of the story is we do not know the real names of all the four lead characters in the movie. The movie takes off really well and is very interesting and some good comedy, but after the intermission it kind of drags a bit. Satish Rajwade the director of the movie is well know and has delivered some really good TV serials. All the main characters are well known faces and good acting reputations. So finally the recommendation is good to watch with a caution of not so interesting till the end, so be prepared for a little disappointment.

हाय काय नाय काय (Haay kaay Naay kaay)

प्रेम प्रधान एक स्त्री लंपट मोठ्ठा पण तरुण उद्योगपती असतो. प्रिया प्रधान अत्यंत भोळी असते. हिचे प्रेम असते प्रेम वर. हिला असे वाटत असते कि प्रेम हा अत्यंत साधा भोळा आणि प्रेमळ नवरा आहे. अर्थात तो प्रेमळ असतो. अर्थात तो प्रेमळ असतो, पण कुठलीही सुंदर दिसली की हा फारच प्रेमळ होतो. यांच्याच घरात एक राणी, म्हणून सुंदर तरुणी नोकरी करत असते.

याचा एक साधा भोळा सरळमार्गी मित्र सदाशिव ढापणे प्रेमच्या घरी येतो. प्रेम आणि सदाशिव यांची खूप जुनी मैत्री असते. सदाशिव ढापणे हा एक कवी असतो. आता नवीन कवींची व्यथा, आणि कथा जशी असते तशीच याची पण स्थिती असते. बिचाऱ्याला पुरेसे पैसे मिळत नसतात. त्यामुळे घरमालक घरातून हाकलून लावतो, कारण घराच्या भाड्याची थकबाकी खूप झालेली असते. आता कुठे जावे अश्या विचारात असताना, त्याला प्रेम आठवतो आणि तो तडक प्रेमच्या घरी येतो.

आता हा अतिशय प्रेमळ प्रेम, याच वेळेस त्याच्या नवीन प्रेम-प्रकरणातील, मल्लिकाला भेटायला पुण्याला जाण्याचा बेत करत असतो. प्रियाला सांगतो की पुण्याला नवीन ब्रांच उघडली आहे त्यासाठी शनिवार-रविवार पुण्याला जावे लागणार आहे. आणि पुण्याची ब्रान्च प्रेमचा मित्रच (श्री लोखंडे ) बघत असल्याने तसा काही प्रश्न नाहीये असे तो प्रियाला पटवून देतो. पण प्रियाला त्याने पुण्याला जाऊ नये असे वाटत असते. त्यामुळे ती प्रेमच्या इमेल मध्ये जाऊन पुण्याच्या "मित्राला" मुंबईला बोलावते. खरं तर हा मित्र नसून "मल्लिकाच" असते. मल्लिकाला वाटते कि खरच प्रेम तिला पुण्याला बोलावतो आहे, त्यामुळे ती देखील पुण्याला यायला निघते. जोवर प्रेमला हा सगळा प्रकार कळतो तोवर मल्लिका मुंबईला येऊन पोचलेली असते. आता या मल्लिकाला कसे लपवावे याचा भयंकर मोठा प्रश्न प्रेमला पडतो. कारण प्रेमने मल्लिकाला त्याचे लग्न झाले आहे असे सांगितलेले नसते. अश्या कात्रीत सापडलेल्या परिस्थितीत असताना, अचानक कवी सदाशिव ढापणे घरी येऊन पोचतो.

आता मल्लिका आणि सदाशिव ढापणे "नवरा-बायको" आहे असे प्रियाला पटवून दिले तरच काहीतरी मार्ग सापडेल असे तो या दोघांना पटवतो. आणि सदाशिव ढापणे चा "परीस लोखंडे" होतो. सदाशिव ढापणे उर्फ परीस (तोतया) हा अतिशय साधा, तर मल्लिका अतिशय नखरेल आणि हाय-फाय . म्हणजे दोघांना बघितल्यावर हा दोघांचे लग्न कसे काय बुवा झाले असा प्रश्न निश्चित पडावा. तसा प्रश्न राणीला निश्चित पडतो. तो प्रश्न ती प्रियाला पण विचारते. पण प्रिया म्हणते की त्यात काय, झाले असेल लग्न. आता या दोघांना लग्न झाल्याचे नाटक करावे लागते. इकडे घरात सैपाकाला बाई हवी असे प्रिया सारखे सांगत असते. तर प्रिया ज्या बाईंकडून मोलकरीण बोलावणार असते, त्या सांगतात की बाई नाहीये, पण आचारी आहे. याच दरम्यान एक मनुष्य प्रेमच्या घरी येतो. तर प्रेमला तो आचारी वाटतो म्हणून तो त्या मनुष्याला घरात घेतो. तो मनुष्य स्वताचे नाव सदाशिव ढापणे असे सांगतो. आणि मग सुरु होते धमाल. तोतया कोण, खरा कोण हे समजत नाही. शिवाय प्रेम आणि मल्लिकाचे प्रकरण काहीच पुढे सरकत नाही. अश्या बऱ्याच गमती जमती या सिनेमात घडतात. शेवटी प्रियाला समजते का प्रेमचे प्रेम-प्रकरण. सदाशिव ढापणे चा तोतया वर परीस लोखंडे या दोघांचे नक्की काय नाते असते हे बघा "हाय काय नाय काय" मध्ये.

सिनेमा ठीक आहे. विनोदी सिनेमा आहे. पुष्कर श्रोत्रीचे काम मस्त आहे. त्याचे विनोद देखील आवडले. सिनेमाचे कथानक खूप काही छान नसले, तरी अगदीच कंटाळा येत नाही. एकूण सगळे विनोद, आणि गाणी यामध्ये हा सिनेमा ठीक वाटतो. सहकुटुंब हा सिनेमा बघण्यालायक आहे. काही वाईट सीन नाहीत. विनोद पण चांगले आहेत. या सिनेमाचे दिग्दर्शन पुष्कर आणि प्रसाद यांनी केले. पहिलाच प्रयत्न चांगला होता असे म्हणण्यास हरकत नाही.

Prem Pradhan is a rich and young businessman. But he is a big womanizer. His wife Priya is very simple lady. She loves Prem very much and she is feels that Prem is also very loving and caring husband. Prem is in fact very loving, but towards all beautiful ladies. And he is always thinking of different ladies in his life. There is a young and beautiful maid servent called Rani in their house, to help Priya.

Prem has a very simple and straightforward friend Sadashiv Dhapne. Both of them are very old and thick friends. Sadashiv aka Sada is a upcoming poet. He is not doing well and always in need of money. One day Sada's landlord throws Sada out of the rented house, for not paying rent for several months. He decides to take shelter in Prem's house for some days and reaches his house.

Prem is planning to visit his latest affair Mallika in Pune. He has been doing that for some time. To facilitate his flirting, he has convinced Priya, that his business is expanding, and he has opened a new branch in Pune. He has to go to Pune on weekends for several months to establish it well. He has pretended that his friend Mr. Lokhande is taking care of Pune branch. Priya wants Prem to be in Mumbai with her for the weekend, so she sends an email using Prem's unlogged email account to Lokhande that this weekend Prem shall meet in Mumbai and passes on the home address. This Lokhande is no one else but Mallika, she thinks that it is a better plan to go to Mumbaia and spend some time with Prem, since she is unaware that Prem is already married.

By the time Prem realizes the complications, Mallika is already in Mumbai and reaching him house. His is in big trouble now, since both the ladies do not know each other and are going to meet soon. And he also has to convince Mallika that his marriage is big problem and he has to come out of this. Finally looking at Sada, he makes a quick plan. Prem convinces Mallika, that his mariage was a big blunder, due to his dad's final wish, and he is working hard on coming out of it. And he forces Sada to act as Paris Lokhande, if he wants to stay in his house for some time. And Mallika his wife for some time.

Mallika is really mod lady and this Sada aka Paris Lokhande is very very simple man. The made up pair really looks odd. But Prem introduces them as Mr. and Mrs. Lokhande and Priya is happy to meet them. Rani doubts them as a pair looking at the mismatch and esquires with Priya, but Priya says there are some odd pairs at times, and forgets the issue. Mallika and Sada have hard time pretending as husband and wife. To add the complications, Priya has been looking for a lady cook to help her, and the agent looking for cook convinces her that she should accept a reliable male cook. The new cook is also a fraud, and he uses a fake name Sadashib Dhapne.

There are a lot of confusions due to several people in the same house with fake identities and complicated relations. Prem and Mallika are not able to meet each other and finally Priya figures out the affair between Prem and Mallika. It will not be worthwhile to explain the confusions in the review but must be watched in the movie Hai Kay ani Nai Kay.

The movies is well done and Pushkar Kshotri has acted well. Prasad Oak and Sai Tamhankar are good too. Atul Parchure has added some additional fun in the movie. The storyline is alright and nothing new in it, but overall comedy and acting is enjoyable. A good first attempt by Prasad oak and Pushkar Kshotri at directing a movie.

हापूस (Haapus)

अण्णा गुरव म्हणजे वानरवाडी मधील मोठे प्रस्थ. गावातील सगळेच मोठे निर्णय अण्णाच्या सांगण्याशिवाय होत नसत. याला कारण म्हणजे यांचा ज्योतिष शास्त्राचा गाढा अभ्यास व त्यावर नितांत विश्वास. यांचा मोठा परिवार. घरी म्हातारी आई, जिच्यावर अण्णांचा खूप जीव. बायको आणि मुलं. मुलं म्हणजे एक मुलगा अजित. लग्न झालेला, सुनेचे नाव नंदा. हा खूप हुशार, हा हापूस आंब्याची एक संकरीत जात बनवण्याच्या मागे असतो. आणि त्याला त्यात यश पण येत असते. दोन जुळ्या मुली, एक अमृता, आणि दुसरी अंकिता. अमृता एकदम धडाडीची, अगदी Tomboy शोभून दिसेल तशी, तर अंकिता अगदी लाजाळू व गरीब. चौथी मुलगीच नाव आनंदी. वय १३-१४. अंकिता गावातील एका रीक्षेवाल्याच्या "सुभाष उर्फ सुभ्या" च्या प्रेमात पडते. आता हिचे लग्न सुभ्याशी होणे तसे कठीणच असते, कारण पत्रिका आडवी येणार हे दोघांना देखील माहिती असते. अंकिताला बघायला पाहुणे येणार असतात, हे सुभ्याला कळते, त्याला समजत नाही

आता काय करावे. याच विचारात असताना, अण्णा गुरव यांचा पत्ता विचारत एक तरुण मनुष्य त्याच्या रिक्षात चढतो, त्याच्याशी गप्पा करताना त्याला समजते की हा अण्णा गुरवच्या मुलीला बघायला आला आहे. पण प्रत्यक्षात हा वानरवाडी मध्ये शिक्षक म्हणून आलेला असतो व वडिलांच्या मित्राकडे म्हणजे अण्णा गुरव यांच्याकडे राहणार असतो. अश्या तर्हेने "दिगंबर नीलकंठ काळे" याचे वानरवाडी मध्ये आगमन होते

अजितला हापूस आंबाच्या व्यापार करायचा असतो. त्याच्या मते, दलालांना मधल्या मध्ये खूप पैसे मिळतात, त्यामुळे जर का सगळ्या वानरवाडी मधील बागायतदार एकत्र आला तर आंबा विकला जाईल आणि पैसे पण जास्त मिळतील. पण या गावात असणारा दलाल राजेंद्र छाजेड हा अजितच्या मार्गात खूप अडथळे आणतो. व शिवाय अण्णा गुरव यांच्या मते, म्हणजे पत्रिकेच्या मते, गुरव यांच्या कुटुंबात बिसिनेस हा यशस्वी होणार नाही. त्यामुळे अण्णांची पण अजितला साथ मिळत नाही.

अमृता देखील, अण्णांच्या पत्रिका, पत्रिका या विषयावर चिडलेली असते, एकूण घरातील सगळेच लोक ज्योतिष व पत्रिका या विषयावर जरा वैतागलेले असतात. मराठवाड्यातील अंबेजोगाई या गावातून आलेला मास्तर, हे सगळे ओळखतो. त्यात अमृता याच्या प्रेमात पडते. पण अण्णांना कसे पटवायचे हा सगळ्यांसमोर पडलेला प्रश्न. शेवटी, अजित, बिसिनेस करू शकतो का, त्याला अण्णांची साथ मिळते का, दोन्ही प्रेमी युगुलांना आपापले प्रियकर मिळतात का , अण्णा बदलतात का हे बघा "हापूस" मध्ये.

दलाली मोडून काढली पाहिजे, त्याने शेतकऱ्यांना जास्त पैसे मिळतील, त्याचप्रमाणे ज्योतिष्य हेच अगदीच सगळे खर नसतं, तर मनुष्याची मेहनत पण खूप महत्वाची आहे हे दाखवण्याचा प्रयत्न या सिनेमात केला आहे. सगळ्यांच्याच भूमिका उत्तम आहेत. मधुर वेलणकर खूपच छान दिसते. मकरंद अनासपुरे नेहमीप्रमाणेच छान. सुभोध भावेची बायको म्हणून जी कोण नटी आहे, ती त्यापेक्षा वयाने मोठी आहे असा वाटत. पण तिची भूमिका उत्तम आहे. सिनेमा चांगला आहे. पण बघावाच असा नाही.

Anna Gurav is a famous Astrologer in the village of Vanarwadi. He is one of strongest believer of Astrology and also advises each and every person in is contact to follow. All the major decisions in the village are not taken without consulting Anna's consultation. His family members are his old mother, his wife, son Ajit, Ajit's wife Nanda, twin daughters Amruta and Ankita and youngest member is Anandi.

Ajit is a bright man and has dreams, ideas as well as courage. He is working on a hybrid variety of famous Hapus Mango, and he is already getting some good results. Amruta is a very bold and dashing girl wife Ankita the reverse, very shy and silent. Amruta is always wondering in the village and is involved in fights. She is a true tom boy. Ankita is attending college and is in love with Subhash alias Subhya, who is a Auto Cab driver.

A prospective boy was to visit Anna Gurav's family to explore wedding relationship with Ankita. Subhya is aware of the fact, so he decides to play spoilsport. While waiting with his Cab for business, a guy comes to him and inquires about Anna Gurav's house. Subhya mistakes him for the prospective boy and starts telling him all false stories about Ankita, so he will decide the other way. But unfortunately he is not the right person but he is new school teacher Kale, who is son of Anna Gurav's friend.

There is a middleman Rajendra Chhajed, who is buying all the mangos from Vanarwadi and selling them in Mumbai. He is making a lot of money, and paying the real farmers working hard in Vanrwadi just peanuts. Ajit is upset about it, and tries to bring all the farmers together and tries to convince them that if they all come together and sell mangos they will make almost four times the money they are making now. Naturally Chhajed is creating all sorts of problems in this endeavor of Ajit to save his business and financial margins. Anna is also opposing Ajit because he thinks according horoscopes, his family can not do business successfully. And there is some unknown reason behind this premise.

Amruta is also upset because of Anna's horoscope business. Kale master being an outsider, but staying in their home, realizes this problem and overdose of horoscope and astrology by Anna. So all the family members decide to come together and find a way out of this. Basically how to convince Anna is the issue they have to tackle.

You have to watch the movie Hapus to see if they are able to convince Anna, if the two pairs in love unite, if Ajit is able to venture in business, and if Anna is able to support all hie family in a meaningful way.

Madhura Velankar has done a fabulous job if acting a double role of twin sisters with opposite charactors. Makaran Anaspure is hilarious as usual. Subodh Bhave and Shivaji Satam and established names and they have certainly justified their roles well. Pushkar Kshotri is good too. If you enjoy comedies, you will certainly enjoy the movie.

झेंडा (Zenda)

काकासाहेब सरपोतदार हे जनसेना नावाच्या मोठ्या पार्टीचे प्रमुख. राजेश सरपोतदार हा काकासाहेबचा पुतण्या तर प्रशांत हा काकासाहेबांचा मुलगा. आता काकासाहेब म्हातारे झाल्याने या दोघांपैकी कोणाला तरी त्यांचा उत्तराधिकारी म्हणून सगळे कार्यकर्ते जमलेले असतात. बऱ्याच कार्यकर्त्यांच्या अपेक्षेनुसार राजेश हा जनसेनेच काम बघणार असे वाटत असते. पण काकासाहेब सगळ्या कार्यकर्त्यांचा अपेक्षाभंग करतात व प्रशांत ला उत्तराधिकारी म्हणून नेमतात. पण राजेश हा सगळ्या कार्यकर्त्यांचा आवडता असतो, तरीही काकासाहेबांच्या शब्दाबाहेर त्यांच्या पार्टी मधील कोणीच कार्यकर्ता जात नाही. त्यामुळे बरेच कार्यकर्ते काकासाहेबांच्या या निर्णयाला स्वीकारतात.

याच कार्यकर्त्यांमध्ये दोन अगदी जीवाभावाचे मित्र असतात. संतोष शिंदे आणि उमेश जगताप दोघे मित्र, व जनसेनेचे निष्ठान्वंत कार्यकर्ते. संतोष हा १२ वी नापास व नुसते निष्टवान कार्यकर्ते आहोत याचा अभिमान बाळगणारा तर उमेश हा शिकलेला आणि खूप विचारी. राजेशला उत्तराधिकारी नेमले नाही याचा उमेशला खूप त्रास होतो, तर संतोष, काकासाहेबांच्या शब्दाबाहेर कसे जायचे या विचाराने त्रस्त. त्यात राजेश सरपोतदार, महाराष्ट्र साम्राज्य सेना नावाची पार्टी काढतो व जनसेने पासून वेगळा होतो. आता कार्यकर्त्यांची होरपळ सुरु होते, त्यांना समजत नाही आता काय करावे. उमेशच्या मते राजेश सरपोतदारकडे सावरकरांचे स्वप्न पूर्ण करण्याची पात्रता आहे आणि म्हणून तो महाराष्ट्र साम्राज्य सेनेमध्ये जातो.

अविनाश मोहिते एका खेड्यात जनसेनेचा नेता. याचा जनसेनेत असण्याचा उद्देश म्हणजे काही वर्ष्याने जिल्हापरिषदेत अध्यक्ष व्हायचे आणि त्यानंतर राजकारणात पुढे जाऊन आमदार, खासदार. अविनाशला तसे तर जनसेनेबद्दल फार प्रेम असते असे नाही, तर हा आपली स्वप्नं घेऊन जनसेनेत येतो. म्हणजे जर स्वप्न पूर्ण होणार नसतील तर हा दुसरीकडे जाऊ शकेल अशी याची मनस्थिती असते.

आदित्य हा एका अँडव्हर्टाईजींग कंपनी मध्ये मॅनेजर म्हणून काम करत असतो. याचे स्वप्नं म्हणजे सगळ्या जगभर फिरायचे खूप ऐश करायची आणि खूप पैसे मिळवायचा. आदित्यचा जीवनाकडे बघण्याचा दृष्टीकोन व्यावसायिक असतो. आदित्यला महाराष्ट्र साम्राज्य सेनेचे निवडणूक प्रचाराचे कॅम्पेन करण्याचे काम मिळते आणि त्यामुळे त्याचे महाराष्ट्र साम्राज्य सेनेच्या राजेश सरपोतदारशी संबध येतात.

आता या चौघांच्या आयुष्याशी राजेश सरपोतदारचे निर्णय कसे अवलंबून असतात, आणि त्यांना आयुष्य कुठे नेते हे बघा "झेंडा" मध्ये.

सिनेमा ठीक आहे. शेवट अगदीच गुंडाळून टाकला आहे असे वाटते. सिनेमाच्या सुरवातीला जरी अवधूत म्हणत असला कि या सिनेमाचे कोणाही मृत अथवा जिवंत व्यक्तीशी संबध नाही, तरीही हा सिनेमा शिवसेनेवर आधारित हे अगदीच दिसून येते. सिनेमातील गाणी चांगली आहेत. विशेषता कोणता झेंडा घेऊ हाती, आणि सावधान सावधान, वणवा पेट घेत आहे, खूपच छान. पदार्पणात अवधूतने केलेला प्रयत्न चांगला आहे.

राजकारणात शहाण्या माणसाने पडू नये, तर आपापली ध्येये राजकारणाशी निगडीत ठेवू नये असा एक संदेश या सिनेमातून देण्यात आला आहे. पण सध्याच्या देशाच्या परिस्थिती कडे बघता, काही चांगल्या माणसांनी राजकारणात पडायला हवे असे माझे मत आहे. तुमच्या प्रतिक्रिया अवश्य लिहा.

Santosh and Umesh are two very close friends. Both are workers of a political party Janasena. Santosh is 12th fail and Umesh is post graduate. Santosh is very proud of his political connections but Umesh always thinks about the political process. He does not follow orders of the higher leaders blindly, but always raises questions. Santosh is more rowdy type who always wants to use muscle power.

Janasena supremo Kakasaheb Sarpotdar is very old and he is to announce his political hair. The main contestants are his own son Prashant and his nephew Rajesh. Most of the people envisage Rajesh as trhe future leader due to his charismatic personality and dynamic nature. But unexpectedly Kakasaheb declares Prashant as the future leader. Though most of the party workers did not like the decision, they just go by Kakasahb's words and keep quite.

Santosh is unhappy, still agrees the decision, but Umesh is disturbed by this. Very soon, as expected, Rajesh announces a new party Maharashtra Samrajya Sena. Now there is a big dilemma among all the dedicated party workers. Umesh believes that Rajesh has the capacity to fulfill Vir Savarkar's dream of strong country and decides to join him. Santosh decides to remain with Janasena, due to his blind dedication.

Avinash is a small politician in a town. He is educated, and has a clear political road map. He wants to become Zilla Parishad President, then MLC and MLA. He is not very dedicated to the party as such, but sticking to it, for the political dreams. He can quickly change his party for fulfilling his dreams.

Aditya is a manager in Advertising and event management company. He is very ambitious and wants to earn a lot of money by hook or crook. He has a total corporate mindset and wants to go around the world with his pockets full of money. He gets involved into politics by accidnt. He gets the project of desiging the whole political campaign for Maharashtra Samrajya Sena of Rajesh Sarpotdar.

The whole movie depicts how Rajesh's decisions affect the lives of all these concerned people. How some get the benefit and how some of them suffer. The name of the movie Zenda or flag is to suggest what flag will each of them fight for.

Movie is alright to watch and with family. It depicts the picture of Maharashtra politics and Shivsena, though it claims it is not based on any person or incidence in real life. Very good job by Avadhoot Gupte as first time director. Songs are good specially "Vanava pet ghet aahe", "Savdhan Savdhan" and "Konata Zenda gheu hati".
