महारथी (Maharathi)

Jaisingh Edenwala was a famous film director of his time. But he is now drunkard and not going well with his wife. He has also stopped making films altogether. He is now going to be bank-corrupt. Once while driving back from a party, under influence of alcohol he bangs a roadside tree and gets hurt badly. One petty criminal Subhash Sharma saves him and takes him out of the burning car.

Subhash wins Jaisingh's heart and he offers Subhash a job of his driver. He also lets him stay in the outhouse of his mansion like bungalow. Now Subhash learns about the equations between Jaisingh and his wife Mallika. Mallika has married Jaisingh just for his money. Subhash becomes a trusted friend of Jaisingh and Jaisingh starts sharing each and everything with Subhash.

Jaisigh is an asthma patient. Once when he suffers one such attack, Mallika throws away his medicine pump, so that Jaisingh suffers and hopefully dies and she gets his wealth. Subhash does not believe it. The Jaisingh tells him that he has a insurance policy of 24 crore and the beneficiary is Mallika. Now Subhash agrees.

Mallika and Subhash are always in verbal wars. On one such occasion, Jaisingh writes something and hands over to Subhash and orders him to pass it on to Marchant, his lawyer. But before that he tells, he need to announce something to Mallika. He calls both of them in the room and explains he has a strange message for the layers as following. "I am killing myself. Mallika will get the money for my insurance policy only if she proves, it was murder. If Mallika is not successful and gets arrested for my murder, please use this letter to bail her out. But this will insure she does not get the money." Before Subhash and Mallika could digest this situation, Jaisingh pulls out a gun and kills himself. 

Now the real movie starts. What will Mallika do next? Will she succeed in proving that as a murder? What will Subhash do? Will Mallika get the money? watch "Maharathi".

The movie is very gripping for the beginning. The story line moved rapidly. There are only five characters in the movie. First part is all about Jaisingh and Subhash. Second half is all about Mallika and Subhash. Towards the end police officer (Om Puri) has certainly left a mark. Paresh Rawal has done a really good job. Boman Irani is also good. In general, the movie is must watch if you have not. The fun to watch how all the five characters are trying to prove superior than others. And all are really great actors. जयसिंग एडेनवाला हा एक त्याच्या काळातील खूप प्रसिद्ध सिनेमा दिग्दर्शक असतो. पण त्याच्या बायकोशी म्हणजे मल्लिकाशी त्याचे संबंध बिघडतात आणि मग हा दारूच्या आहारी जातो. सिनेमा करणे बंद पडते, आणि त्यामुळे कर्ज बाजरी होतो. एकदा असाच दारूच्या नशेत असताना. त्याच्या गाडीला अपघात होतो. त्या अपघातात, जीवाची पर्वा न करता, सुभाष शर्मा नावाचा एक भुरट्या चोर त्याला वाचवतो.

सुभाषवर खुश होऊन तो सुभाषला तो त्याच्या ड्रायव्हरची नोकरी देतो आणि शिवाय घरात राहायला जागा पण देतो. आता घरात राहायला लागल्यावर सुभाषला मल्लिकाचे वागणे, जयसिंगचे वागणे नीट समजू लागते. मल्लिकाने जयसिंगाशी फक्त त्याच्या पैश्यासाठी लग्न केलाय हे पण त्याच्या लक्षात येते. जयसिंगचा सुभाष हा एक खूप चांगला मित्र होतो. त्याच्या मनातील सगळ्या गोष्टी जयसिंग सुभाषला सांगू लागतो.

जयसिंगला अस्थम्याचा त्रास असतो. तर एकदा असाच अस्थम्याचा अटॅक आला असताना, मल्लिका त्याचा औषधाचा पंप फेकून देते, जेणे करून जयसिंगचा मृत्यू होईल आणि सगळी संपत्ती मल्लीकाला मिळेल. हे ऐकल्यावर सुभाषला खरे वाटत नाही. मग जयसिंग सांगतो कि त्याने एक लाइफ़ इन्शुरन्स घेतलाय, आणि त्या पॉलिसीनुसार त्याचे पैसे मल्लिकाला मिळणार आहेत. आणि त्या पॉलिसीची रक्कम थोडी थोडकी नाही तर तब्बल २४ करोड आहे. हे ऐकल्यावर मग सुभाषला पटते कि कदाचित मल्लिकाचा खरच डोळा असणार जयसिंगच्या संपत्तीवर.

मल्लिका आणि जयसिंगचे खटके तर कायम उडतच असतात. तर असच एकदा कुठल्यातरी कारणावरून खटका उडतो. त्यानंतर जयसिंग एका कागदावर काहीतरी लिहितो आणि सुभाषला ते पत्र त्याच्या वकिलाकडे म्हणजे मर्चंट कडे द्यायला सांगतो. पण ते पत्र देण्याआधी तो सांगतो कि मला मल्लिकाला काही महत्वाचे सांगायचे आहे. आणि मग मल्लिका आणि सुभाषला समोरासमोर बसवून सांगतो कि सुभाषकडे जे पत्र आहे, त्यात मी असा लिहिलंय कि मी आता आत्महत्या करणार आहे, पण माझ्या पॉलिसीचे पैसे मल्लिकाला मिळतील जेव्हा ती माझ्या आत्महत्येला खून आहे असे सिद्ध करून दाखवेल. आणि जर का तिने हा खून आहे हे सिद्ध केले, आणि त्यात जर का ती फसली तर, हे पत्र दाखवून तिला बाहेर काढा, पण त्यामुळे मग पैसे तिला मिळणार नाहित. या दोघांना वाटतंय कि हा फालतू काहीतरी बोलतोय, पण तो खरच बंदूक काढून आत्महत्या करतो.

आता पुढे काय करायचे असा प्रश्न मल्लिकाला पडतो, ती नक्की काय निर्णय घेते, जयसिंगची आत्महत्या खुनात साबित करते का? तिला जयसिंगची संपत्ती मिळते का? हे बघा "महारथी" मध्ये.

 सिनेमा सुरवातीपासूनच प्रेक्षकांवर पकड घेतो. कथा एकदम पटापट पुढे सरकते. कथेत मुख्य पाचच पात्र आहेत, पूर्वाधात बहुतेक सगळी कथा नसिरुद्दीन शहा, आणि परेश रावल यांच्या भोवती फिरते, तर त्यानंतरची कथा मल्लिका आणि परेश रावलच्या भोवती फिरते. शेवटी पोलिस म्हणून आलेला ओम पुरी पण चांगलीच छाप पडून जातो. परेश रावलची भूमिका खुप उत्तम रित्या मांडली गेली आहे. बोमन इराणी, वकिलाच्या भूमिकेत उत्तम. एकूण सिनेमा बघावा असाच आहे. आणि सगळी पात्र एकावर एक कशी कुरघोडी करतात हे बघण्यात या सिनेमातील खरी गम्मत आहे. तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यास, किंवा माझ्या लिखाणावर काही प्रतिक्रिया असल्यास जरूर देणे.

दसविदानिया (dasvidaniya)

अमर कौल हा एका फार्मसुटिकल कंपनी मध्ये अकाऊंट मॅनेजर म्हणून नोकरी करत असतो. मनाने खूप साधा सरळ, प्रेमळ असा हा अमर खूपच लाजाळू व गरीब असतो. सगळी लोक त्याला काम सांगत असतात आणि हा मुकाट्याने करत असतो. ३७ वर्ष्याचा होऊन देखील लग्न झालेले नसते. घरी आई असते, वयोमानपरत्वे हिला ऐकायला कमी येते. याचा भाऊ बॉलीवूड मध्ये डिरेक्टर म्हणून काम करत असतो. भावाचे लग्नावरून आई व अमरचे भांडण होते म्हणून घर सोडले असते. अश्या परिस्थितीत अमर ला पोटाचा त्रास सुरु होतो. डॉक्टरकडे गेल्या त्याला कळते कि त्याला पोटाचा  कॅन्सर आहे. आणि डॉक्टर त्याला सांगतात कि तू आता २-३ महिन्याचा सोबती आहे. हे कळल्यावर हा अतिशय हादरून जातो. व आता थोडेच दिवस उरले म्हणून तू एका दारूच्या दुकानात जातो तिथे दारू पीत बसतो. तेव्हा त्याला एक बिनधास्त माणूस भेटतो.

अमर कौलला रोज सकाळी आज करण्याच्या कामाची यादी करण्याची सवय असते. तो दारू पियुन आल्यानंतर सकाळी यादी करायला बसतो, तर त्याच्या मध्ये दडलेला एक बिनधास्त अमर कौल बाहेर येतो, व त्याला म्हणतो कि तू हि काय यादी करतो आहेस, आता तर तुला मरण्यापूर्वी करण्याच्या गोष्टीची यादी करायला हवी. अमरला हे पटते, व तो त्यात त्याला करण्याच्या १० गोष्टींची यादी करतो. आणि त्या सर्व गोष्टी पूर्ण करण्याच्या मागे लागतो. या १० गोष्टी काय होत्या, त्या सगळ्या तो कश्या पूर्ण करतो हे बघा "दसविदानिया" मध्ये

या सिनेमाबद्दल मी बरेच ऐकले होते, शेवटी काल तो सिनेमा बघण्याचा योग आला. आणि आपण हा सिनेमा आधीच बघायला हवा होता असे वाटले. रशियन मध्ये स्वीदानिया म्हणजे गुड बाय !! अमर त्याच्या उरलेल्या आयुष्यातील काही अतिशय हळुवार क्षण एका रशियन बाई बरोबर घालवता येतात. तिला टाटा कारताना अमर कौल दस = १० आणि स्वीदानिया असे एकत्रित करून म्हणतो. म्हणून सिनेमाचे नाव "दसविदानिया "

सिनेमा अतिशय सुंदर आहे. याची अक्टिंग खूपच सुंदर. खरच जर आपण मरणार असे समजल्यानंतर १० गोष्टी लिहून ते हसत हसत करणे कसे जमू शकेल हा प्रश्न मनात येतो. जगात अर्थातच अशी उदाहरणे डोळ्यासमोर दिसतात. अमर कौल मेल्यानंतर देखील त्याच्या जीवनात आलेल्या लोकांसाठी काहीतरी गिफ्ट ठेवतो आणि या गिफ्ट मध्ये देखील त्याने खूपच विचार केलेला असतो. त्याचा बालपणाचा मित्र आणि अमर मध्ये जी काही भावनिक गुंतवणूक असते, ते बघून गहीवरायला होते. हळव्या लोकांसाठी हा सिनेमा खूपच रडका आहे. पण गंभीर विषय खूपच विनोदाने हाताळला आहे. म्हणजे सिनेमात कोणतेच पात्र रडत नाही. पण प्रसंग असे घातले आहेत कि प्रेक्षकांच्या डोळ्यात नक्कीच पाणी येते.

सिनेमा जरून बघा. तुमची मते अवश्य कळवा.

Amar Kaul is accounts manager in an pharmaceutical company. He is very simple, straight forward, loving and caring person. Everyone asks him for favors and he will happily help them. At his home, he only has his old mother. She has hearing problem. His brother is film director in Bollywood. He is staying alone, because they had a fight over his marriage.  

Amar develops some problem with his stomach. He has severe pain. He is diagnosed with stomach cancer. He has only 2-3 months left. He is shaken within, due to this news. So to ease out his tensions, he enters a liquor shop and starts drinking. There he meets an interesting carefree guy.

Amar is a lists person. He has habit of making list of things to to every day. Now when he sits to make the list next morning, his carefree personality comes out and suggests him, he should start making list of things to do before he dies rather than day today mundane things. Amar is convinced with this thought and makes a bucket list of 10 things he would love to do before he dies. What are those 10 things and whether and how Amar tries to complete the things, which in the movie "Dasvidaniya".

We heard about this movie long back, but finally got opportunity to watch it recently, and we felt, we should have watched this long back. "Svidaniya" literary means good bye forever in Russian. Amar meets a Russian lady during his last days and while saying good bye to her he uses this term hence the name.   

The movie is really good and Vinay Pathak has done really great job. Once a person knows he is going to die in few days, how can one list 10 things and enjoys the process of getting them done and off the list one by one. But we do see a few examples of such people. Amar leaves some really thoughtful gifts for all the near and dear ones. His emotional attachment with his childhood friend is pictured beautifully. Over all a very sentimental movie, but really well done and according to us, a must watch one.

डिपार्चर्स (Departures)

डियागो कोबायाशी हा टोकियो मध्ये एका ऑर्केस्ट्रा मध्ये चेलो वाजवत असतो. त्यांच्या ऑर्केस्ट्राला खूप प्रेक्षक नसतात. त्यामुळे सगळे कलाकार चिंतेत असतात. काय उपाय करावा म्हणजे आपला ऑर्केस्ट्रा चांगला चालेल याबद्दल ते विचार करत असतात. त्याच दरम्यान त्यांच्या ऑर्केस्ट्राचा मालक त्यांना आता ऑर्केस्ट्रा बंद झाला आहे असे सांगतो कारण त्याला यातून काहीच उत्पन्न मिळत नसते. आता अचानक नोकरी गेल्याने डियागो खूप चिंतेत पडतो. त्याने त्याच्या बायकोला न सांगता १८ मिलियन येनला एक खूप चांगल्या प्रतीची चेलो विकत घेतली असते. आता नोकरी गेली, कर्ज घेऊन चेलो घेतली पुढे काय असा मोठा प्रश्न पडतो. याची बायको मिका ही वेब डिझायनर असते. ती म्हणते की आपण चेलोचे कर्ज फेडू पण जेव्हा तिला कळते की चेलो खूपच महाग आहे तेव्हा ती हतबल होते.

डियागो विचारांती ठरवतो की चेलो विकून टाकायची आणि त्याच्या गावाला निघून जायचे. तिथे जी काय नोकरी मिळेल ते करायची आणि समाधानाने राहायचे. त्याचा निर्णय तो मिकाला सांगतो. मिका तयार होते, गावात त्याच्या आईने त्याच्या नावावर ठेवलेले एक घर असते. हे दोघे तिथे जातात. या घरात डियागोच्या सगळे बालपण गेलेले असते या घराशी त्याच्या सगळ्या आठवणी जडलेल्या असतात. आई-वडिलांचा घटस्फोट झाल्यावर आई डियागोला घेऊन याच घरात राहत असते, वडिलांच्या काही आठवणी त्याच्या सोबत असतात. पण आता मोठा झाल्यावर तो वडिलांचा द्वेष करायला लागलेला असतो. कारण घटस्फोटाचे कारण म्हणजे वडिलांचे एका दुसऱ्या बाई बरोबर असलेले संबध आणि तिच्यासाठी वडील डियागो आणि त्याची आईला सोडून गेलेले असतात.

आता गावी परत आल्यावर नोकरी शोधणे असा कार्यक्रम सुरु होतो. त्याला एक जाहिरात दिसते. त्यात लिहिलेले असते की डिपार्चर्ससाठी एक सहकारी हवा आहे. डियागोला वाटते की ही एखादी ट्रॅव्हल कंपनी असावी. तो तिथे जातो, तिथे गेल्यावर त्याला दिसते की बरीच कॉफीन ठेवलेली आहेत. त्याला जरा शंका येते. पण आता आलोच आहोत तर बॉसला भेटून बोलावे असे तो ठरवतो. त्या कंपनीचा मनेजर असतो, तो त्याला म्हणतो की मी तुला नोकरी देईन, आणि तुला ५००००० येन इतका पगार देईन. आणि ज्या दिवशी काम असेल त्या दिवशी काम करायचे. रोज काम असेलच असे नाही. सिझन मध्ये जास्त काम असेल. डियागोचे डोळे पगार बघून फिरतात. तो म्हणतो नक्की काय काम असणार. तेव्हा बॉस त्याला समजावून सांगतो की लोक मेल्यावर त्यांना स्वच्छ पुसून, सजवून, कॉफीन मध्ये ठेवणे इतकेच काम आहे. डियागोला ते पटत नाही. पण पगार खूप, अनुभवाची आवश्यकता नाही, काम कमी असे सगळा विचार करून तो हो म्हणतो. मग त्याचे बॉस बरोबर ट्रेनिंग सुरु होते. डियागोला नक्की काय अनुभव येतात, मिकाला कळते का हा नक्की कुठली नोकरी करतो आहे?, गावातील लोकांचे काय म्हणणे असते. त्याहून मुख्य म्हणजे डियागोला त्याच्या नोकरी बद्दल काय वाटते हे बघा "डिपार्चर्स" या सिनेमा मध्ये.

हा जापनीज सिनेमा आहे. जपान मध्ये अशी समजूत आहे की माणसाचा मृत्यू झाला की त्याला सजवायचे, त्या व्यक्तीची जी इच्छा असेल त्याप्रमाणे सजवायचे, पण त्या व्यक्तीने जर आधी इच्छा सांगितली नसेल तर घरातील लोकांची इच्छा असेल त्याप्रमाणे सजवायचे आणि मग त्या मृत शरीराला सदिच्छेपूर्वक पुरायचे. मृत्यू नंतर जे संस्कार करतात ते थोडे आपल्या हिंदुच्या जवळपास जाणारे आहेत. फक्त आपण इतकी सजवणूक करीत नाही. पण अंघोळ वगैरे घालतो. हे काम करता करता डियागोची अध्यात्मिक प्रगती कशी होते, त्याच्या बायकोचे आणि त्याचे संबध कसे बदलतात हे खूप सुंदर तर्हेने दाखवले आहे. तसेच वडिलांची माया कशी त्याला शेवटपर्यंत स्वस्थ बसू देत नाही आणि शेवटी वडिलांना सजवताना त्याला काय काय उलगडते हे बघायला हवे. सिनेमा आम्हाला आवडला. पण खूप लहान मुलांना घेऊन बघण्यालायक हा सिनेमा निश्चित नाही. या चित्रपटाला ऑस्कर, अकॅडेमी आणि अजून ३३ अवार्ड मिळाले आहेत.

Diago Koyabashi is an artist Cello with an Orchestra in Tokyo. The orchestra is not doing too well so the artists are worried. They are all discussing what can be done to improve the viewership. At the same time the owner walks into the meeting and finally announced the news everyone is scared to hear. He informs that he has closed the orchestra. Diago is really worried now due to this news. He has recently bought an expensive Cello for 18 million yens without telling his wife. He was hoping to pay off the money form his salary. His wife Mika is a web designer and not really earning too much. On getting the news of job as well as big loan, she is really helpless and worried too.

Finally he decides to sell off his cello and go back to his town, and find a new job there. He conveys that to Mika and she also agrees. He has his house which his mother has left for him. Both of them shift there and clean the house and make it ready for staying. Diago remember his childhood in the house. His parents separated when he was about six years old. His mother brought him us as single mother. He hated his father because he felt that he dumped Diago and his mother for some other lady.

On his return he starts looking for a job for himself. He spots a advertisement for job. It says there is a requirement for a companion for departure. He thinks that looks like a travel company and it will be a good job, so he goes in search of that with the address and lands up in the office. On entering the office he sees coffin there, so he get cautious. But since he has been there all the way, he decides to talk to the boss. He tells him that he will be paid 500K yen as salary. There will not be too much work every day, but in season it could get bit busy. He is excited looking at the salary figure, so he enquirers what kind of job it is ? Boss tells is the the work of undertaker. After death of any person, the job is to clean the body, make it up and put it inside a coffin. Diago is not comfortable with that, but his situations compels to take it up. High salary and no experience required, so the boss starts to train him. What all he learns, what all he experiences did Mika figure it out, how did she react all watch in the movie Departure.

This is a Japanese movie. The tradition there is after the death of any person, he needs to be cleaned and do make up, resembling its real life. Many old people will have a wish conveyed how they want themselves to be prepared. If not the family will decide about it. They are bit similar like Hindu rituals of bath and changing before the final journey. The movie had very nicely shown how he learn things, how his spiritual learning takes place and how he deals with his wife during this period. During all this time he always remembers his father and finally we need to see how he learns more about his father in this process.

The movie is really good and we would highly recommend it. Departures has been awarded Oscar, Academy and other 33 awards. This may not be suitable to watch with children.

गुलमोहर (Gulmohar)

  विद्या चौधरी ही एका कॉलेजात लेक्चरर असते. आई वडिलांच्या मनाविरुद्ध हिने पळून जाऊन देवेन चौधरीशी लग्न केले असते. हे खूपच सोशिक, हुशार, मनमिळावू, कष्टाळू असते. देवेनला नाटकात काम करून जम बसवायचा असतो. पण ह्याची काही तत्वे असतात. त्यात तत्वात बसणारी नाटकंच याला करायची असतात. आणि त्याच्या तत्वात बसणारी नाटकं चालत नसल्याने नवीन प्रकारची नाटकं दिग्दर्शक बसवतात. याला त्या नाटकात काम करण्याची संधी मिळते. पण हा ती धुडकावून लावतो. त्यामुळे ह्याला काही त्याला हवी तशी काम मिळत नसतात. त्यामुळे हा जवळपास रिकामटेकडा असल्यासारखा असतो. आता ह्याला नाटकं मिळत नाहीत हे बघून विद्या पुढे शिकते, तिच्या मेहनतीवर, त्याच कॉलेज मध्ये नोकरी मिळवते

पण आरक्षणामुळे हिला तिथे तासावर नोकरी करावी लागते. पण तरीही ही तिथे टिकून राहते, कधीतरी पर्मनंट होईल या आशेवर त्याच कॉलेज मध्ये राहते. प्रिन्सिपल सर तिला काही अनुवाद करण्याचे काम देखील देतात. मिळेल ते काम कष्ट करून करायचे हे हिचे तत्व असते. घर हिच्या आधारावर सुरु असते.

आई वडील गेल्यावर हिची लहान बहिण मीरा पण ह्यांच्याकडे येऊन राहते. मीराचे शिक्षण सुरु असते आणि ती UPSC ची परीक्षा देऊन पुढे करिअर करायचे असे तिने ठरवलेले असते. विद्याच्या कॉलेजमधील राजन नावाच्या लेक्चरर बरोबर मीराचे प्रेम होते, पण घरातील देवेन आणि विद्याचे संबध बघून हिचा लग्नसंस्थेवरील विश्वास उडालेला असतो.

विद्याच्या कॉलेज मध्ये आरक्षणाबद्दल एक आंदोलन सुरू असते. त्या आंदोलनाचा सूत्रधार एक राजकीय पक्ष असतो. पण त्यांनी हाताशी याच कॉलेज मधील काही युवक हाताशी धरलेले असतात. त्यातच एक भगवान म्हणून मुलगा या आंदोलनाचे नेतृत्व करत असतो. तो राजकीय पक्ष त्याला पैसे देत असतात व राहायला एक गोडाऊन. विद्याला समजत असते, कि भगवान हा खूप हुशार मुलगा आहे, पण याची दिशाभूल केली जात आहे.

तसा विद्याचा या आंदोलनाशी काहीच संबध नसतो. ती तिच्या काळज्यामध्ये व्यस्त असते. त्यात तिला बातमी कळते कि तिला पर्मनंट होणार अशी बातमी कळते. ती खूप आनंदात असते. पण देवेनला त्याचा काहीच आनंद होते नाही. विद्याला हे समजत असते कि देवेन त्याच्या अपयशाने त्रस्त झालेला आहे आणि त्यामुळे हिचे यश त्याला बघवत नाहीये. पण तरीही हि या सगळ्याचा स्वीकार करते. या सगळ्यावर अजून एक संकट म्हणून कि काय, विद्याला कळते कि ती आई होणार आहे. तिच्या मते आता त्यांनी हे मुल ठेवायला पाहिजे, पण देवेनला ते नको असते. या मुद्यावरून दोघांमध्ये खूप भांडण होते. देवेन हिला खूप मारहाण करतो.

ती दुखात घर सोडून बाहेर पडते. पण बाहेर पडून जाणार तरी कोठे? ती अशीच जखमी अवस्थेत बसलेली असताना भगवान तिला बघतो. तो तिला त्याच्या गोडाऊन वर घेऊन येतो आणि ते दोघे ती रात्र गोडाऊन मध्ये काढतात.... आता या गोष्टीचा पुढे काय परिणाम होतो, विद्याला कॉलेज मध्ये या गोष्टीला कसे तोंड द्यावे लागते ? देवेन आणि विद्याचे संबध सुधारतात का ? शेवटी विद्या, भगवान, मीरा, आणि देवेन यांच्या जीवनात त्यांना हवा असलेला गुलमोहर फुलतो का हे बघा "गुलमोहर" या सिनेमामध्ये.

मला सिनेमा आवडला. पण तो सगळ्यांना आवडेलच कि नाही हे सांगणे जरा कठीण जातंय. विद्या तिच्या नवऱ्याचे इतके हट्ट का पुरविते असा प्रश्न मात्र नक्कीच पडतो. रजत कपूरचे मराठी उच्चार नीट नाहीत. त्याने यावर अजून जास्त मेहनत घ्यायला हवी होती असे वाटते. "सगळीच स्वप्न नाही तुटत रे भगवान. फांदी तुटली म्हणून, नवा कोंब येण्याचा थांबत नाही." हे वाक्य आवडले. सोनाली कुलकर्णी आवडत असल्यास हा सिनेमा बघा. लहान मुलांबरोबर बघण्यासारखा सिनेमा नाही. कारण हा सिनेमा मुलांच्या डोक्यावरून निश्चित जाईल.

Vidya Chaudhari is a lecturer in a college. She has married Deven Chaudhari, against will of her parents. She is a bright, hard working, friendly and tolerant person. Deven is an theater actor and wants to make a career in that. But he has some principles, and he accepts the plays that fit into his framework. With changing times, he hardly finds any of those that fit this and most of the times Deven is jobless. When he gets some work, he is not happy with that. Because of all this, Vidya works hard, continues her education and gets a lecturer's job in a college.

Due to quotas and reservations, he has to work on temporary positions and gets paid only on hourly basis. She is continuing on the faith that one day she will get a regular job and ultimately a tenure position. The principal of the college is a nice man and help her with some job works like translations etc. She has been working hard to run her family.

Her parents pass away and her sister Meera too joins them. Meera is still a student and has a dream of writing UPSC examination and get into Government Administrative Services. Meera is dating a lecturer called Rajan, who teaches in the same college as Vidya. But looking at Vidya and Deven's relationship now, she is really not sure of the whole institution of marriage.

There is a movement in the college about the reserved quotas for certain sections of students. This is run by a political party in the background, and are supporting few college students. Bhagwan is one of the leaders in that. He is paid by the political party and they have also made a go-down available for him to stay. Vidya is pained looking at Bhagwan, because he is a bright and has good future, but being used by the politicians. 

Vidya is not bothered of this reservations movement, since she is very busy herself with her own problems at home and college. But she get the sweet news that she is going to get tenure position. She is really happy with the news, but Deven is not at all happy with this. Vidya understands his situation, that he is frustrated with his own failure, and so he is not able to enjoy it. During these days Vidya gets another good news that she is going to be mother. She is really happy with this news, and want the child very much. But Deven is not in a situation to accept this and want her to abort the child. They get into a argument and end up in a scuffle and Deven beating her badly.

In this shock in sadness, she quits the home and moving out aimlessly. While sitting by the roadside and injured, Bhagvan sees her, and with intention of helping her, brings her to his home in the go-down. She spends the night in the go-down with Bhagwan and this leads into consequences of different nature. What kind of problems Vidya has to face in the college ? Was Deven able to patch up with Vidya ofter all this ? What happens in the lives of Vidya, Deven, Meera, Bhagvan watch in the movie Gulmohor.

मी अमृता बोलतेय (Mi amruta bolatey)

 ही गोष्ट आहे "अमृता देवकुळे"ची. अमृता देवकुळे ही एकुलती एक मुलगी. हिच्या आईवडिलांचे हिच्यावर निरातिशय प्रेम असते. हिचे वडील थोडेसे जुन्या विचारसरणीचे असतात. त्यांना अमृताने छोटेसे कपडे घातलेले आवडत नाही, शिवाय अमृताने मुलांशी खूप बोललेले आवडत नाही. त्यांचे म्हणणे असे की कुठला मुलगा चांगला असणार आणि कुठला अमृताचा फायदा घेणार हे ठरवणे अवघड आहे. पण हिच्या आईचे असे मत नसते, ती म्हणते कि अमृता आता मोठी झाली आहे तिला समजत असणार कोण चांगला आणि कोण वाईट ते. शिवाय आजकालच्या पद्धतीचे कपडे घातलेले देखील तिच्या आईला आवडत असते. त्यामुळे तिच्याकडून अमृताला सगळी मोकळीक असते.

पण तरुण वयच वेडे असते. त्या वयात चांगले कोण, वाईट कोण हे समजणे जरा अवघड असते आणि त्यातून प्रेमात पडलं तर विचारायलाच नको. एखादा मुलगा जरा जास्त चांगला वाटू लागला तर विचारायलाच नको. तर अशी हि अमृता, बबन बरोबर खूप मैत्री करते. बबन तिला आवडू लागतो, त्यामुळे ती त्याच्याशी मोकळे पणाने वागू लागते. त्याला कधीही भेटायला ती तयार असते, त्याच्या बरोबर गाडीवर बसून फिरायला जाते. कधी कधी उशीर झाला तर बबनने तिला घरी आणून सोडलेले देखील तिला चालते. एकदा तिचे बाबा, तिला बबन बरोबर बघतात. बबनला बघून त्यांना तो मुलगा काही फारसा पटत नाही. पण अमृताची आई म्हणते, कि तिला तिचे बरे वाईट कळते, तुम्ही काळजी करू नका.

बबन हा तिच्या कॉलेज मध्ये असणारा एक उनाड मुलगा असतो. त्याचे मित्र देखील तसेच उनाड असतात, त्याउलट अमृता एक खूप अभ्यासू आणि हुशार मुलगी असते. बबन बरोबर मैत्री झाल्यानंतर अमृताचे देखील अभ्यासाकडे थोडे दुर्लक्ष होते.

बबनची मैत्री / प्रेम खूप दुराग्रही असते. त्याने काही म्हटले आणि अमृताने केले नाही कि त्याला खूप राग येतो. खरं तर या दोघांचे स्वभाव अतिशय भिन्न असतात. पण अमृताला बबन खूप आवडत असतो, त्यामुळे ती या सगळ्याकडे दुर्लक्ष करते. तरुण वयातील मुलांची विचार करण्याची पद्धतच वेगळी असते. या तरुणांना काय सांगणार. त्यांना एकमेकांचे दोष दिसतच नाहीत. या दोघांची इतकी मैत्री होते, कि त्यांच्यामधील अंतर गळून पडते आणि व्हायला नको ते होते. ते झाल्यावर अमृताचे डोळे खाडकन उघडतात. कारण घरातील संस्कार आणि बबनचे बेभान वागणे यामुळे अमृताला झालेल्या गोष्टीचा खूप पश्चाताप होतो

तिचे अंतर्मन तिला सगळ्या गोष्टीचा विचार करायला भाग पडते त्यात तिच्या असे लक्षात येते कि बबन हा तिच्यासाठी योग्य नाहीये. जे झाले ते झाले, आता या पासून दूर व्हायचे व बबनला भेटायचे नाही. त्याप्रमाणे ती त्याला टाळू लागते.

बबन हा मोठ्या राजकारण्याचा मुलगा असतो. बबन निवडणुकीला उभे राहण्याचे ठरवतो. त्याचे बऱ्याच राजकारणी लोकांशी संबध असतात. याचे बऱ्याच दादा मंडळींशी ओळख असते. निवडणुकीमध्ये प्रकाश घोरपडे म्हणून बबनच्या विरोधात उभा असतो. प्रचार करण्याच्या भानगडीत दोन्ही कडील मुलं एकमेकांशी खूप भांडतात. बबनला राग आला कि बबन बेभान होत असतो, या मारामारीत बबन एकाला खूप बेदम मारतो, त्यामुळे पोलीस येतात. या सगळ्या प्रकारात बबनला कॉलेजमधून काढून टाकतात. हे सगळे बघून अमृता बबनला समजावून सांगण्याचा प्रयत्न करते, तर बबन अमृतालाच ओरडतो व तिच्याशी असभ्यपणे वागतो. एकूण बबन मानसिक रित्या नॉर्मल नसतो हे अमृताला कळून चुकते. अमृताची मैत्रीण पिंकी, प्रकाश घोरपडेच्या प्रेमात पडते.  पिंकी रात्र रात्र प्रकाशच्या घरी जाऊन राहू लागते. हे सगळे खंर तर अमृताला पटत नाही. स्वत:च्या अनुभवावरून, अमृता तिला प्रकाश पासून दूर जाण्याचा प्रयत्न करते. पण अमृता या प्रयत्नात सफल होत नाही. पिंकीला प्रकाश फसवतो, आणि पिंकी या भरात आत्म्यहत्या करते.

अमृता पिंकीच्या आत्म्याहत्येच्या प्रकरणी प्रकाशच्या विरुद्ध साक्ष द्यायला उभी राहते. या केस मध्ये अमृता काय करू शकते ? बबन व तिच्या संबंधाचे पुढे काय होते हे बघा "मी अमृता बोलतेय" या सिनेमामध्ये.

सिनेमाचा उद्देश चांगला आहे. विचार न करता प्रेम करू नका, आई वडिलांचे ऐका. ते तुमच्यावर अतिशय प्रेम करतात. कुठल्याही लोकांवर खूप विश्वास टाकू नका असे बरेच बोध या सिनेमातून घेता येतील. पण सिनेमा काही जमलाय असे वाटत नाही. हे सगळे सांगायला अमृताचे भूत अवतरण्याची काहीच गरज नव्हती. आधी खूप चांगला असणारा बबन एकदम इतका कसा बेभान होतो, हे समजत नाही. म्हणजे सुरवातीपासून त्याची तशी प्रतिमा दाखवली असती तर बरे झाले असते. हे अचानक झालेले रुपांतर काही पटले नाही. सगळ्या कलाकारांनी चांगले काम केले आहे. पण कथानकात अजिबातच दम नाही, दिग्दर्शकाला देखील खूप वाव आहे असे वाटले नाही

हा सिनेमा बघावाच असा अजिबात नाही. पण बघितला तर टाईमपास होईल . तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यात तुमची प्रतिक्रिया जरूर लिहा.


This is a story of a girl "Amruta Devkule". She is the only daughter of her parents, and both her parents love her very much. Her father is Orthodox and does not like Amruta to wear short and reveling dresses, He also does not like hes mingling too much with boys. He is always worried about the bad boys taking undue advantage of Amruta's simple and pious nature. Her mother thinks little differently. She feels Amruta has grown up now can can decide what is good for her and what is bad. She also feels that Amruta can wear modern style dresses like all other girls. So she is kind of supporting Amruta to certain level.

As she is entering her youth, she is entering the phase where at times gets emotional. As they say love is blind, she is not able to think clearly. During this phase she actually fells in love with boy called Baban. She has totally fallen for him. She has developed thick friendship with him and is very free with him. She is ready and eager to meet him at any time of the day, likes going out with him on his bike. Several times, on getting late, Baban will drop her at her home on bike. Once her dad sees her with Baban. He did not like Baban by his looks. He tries to suggest this to Amruta, but her mother pacifies him saying Amruta is maturing with her age, and knows what's good for her, and he need not be upset about it.

Baban is a carefree boy with no attention to his studies. He is also in same kind of company where the whole gang spends more time outside the classes. And at times involved in bullying and road fights. On the other hand Amruta is very sincere and studious student. She is very good in her studies, but after this friendship and love, she is also getting bit ignorant in her studies.

Baban is bossy and over possessive about the relation with Amruta. If Amruta does not meet his demands, he gets upset. Actually the nature of both of them is exactly opposite. But as Amruta is mad in love and blind towards him, she always ignores these kind of differences. With her youth her thinking pattern is rapidly changing, and she is not able to see the dark side of Baban at all. On one such occasion, while in deep love, they cross the boundaries of decency and now Amrutha is shocked at what she has done. Now she is upset with herself, she can not accept this herself due to the teachings at home and uncontrolled behavior of Baban. 

Now she is really in mental turmoil. She is trying think hard, and find a way out of this. Now she is able to clearly think that Baban is not the right person for her. Now she decides, that she should leave her past behind and quit relationship with Baban.

Baban is son of a politician. He decides rung for the college election. He is in contact with local politicians and rowdies. His opponent is Prakash Ghorpade. At the time of canvasing for the elections the two groups of Baban and Prakash come in front of each other and clash. This leads to few injuries. In this process Baban looses his temper and hit a boy from opposing party really badly. Cops come into the picture due to this and Baba is arrested. This leads to removal of Baban form his college. Upset Baban meets Amruta, and she tried hard to explain Baban his mistakes, but Baban again looses his temper and shouts and abuses Amruta. At this point Amruta realizes that Baban is not mentally sound person.

During this period, a good friend of Amruta gets friendly with Prakash Ghorpade. And very quickly gets into  relationship. She starts staying at his room for nights. Amruta is realizes that Pinky is falling in similar trap, she tries hard to convince her good friend to keep away from this. But Pinky takes it the other way and continues the relationship. But very soon Prakash ends the relationship and devastated Pinky commits suicide.

Amruta decides to stand in court and be a witness in Pinky suicide case. But can she really make a difference in the case ? What happens between her and Baban ? What is the morral of this movie ?

There is a good thought behind the movie. Basically it tries to impose that in youth, one should not get into love and relationship just blindly. Need to be little thoughtful. The movie os okay bit nor very good. Some incidences are mismatch in the movie, like behavior of Baban. The actors are all good and have acted well. The storyline and script seems to be bit week.

Finally I would like to say the movie is not too good to watch but could be a good pass time. Do write your comments on the movie if you have seen it or on my review.

सत्य (Satya)

सिद्धांत दिवाकर देशपांडे हा एक खूप हुशार, सद्गुणी मुलगा उटीला हॉटेल मॅनेजमेंटचा कोर्स करीत असतो. याची संजना नावाची मैत्रीण असते. हा खूप हुशार आणि मनमिळावू असल्याने, तो सगळ्याच मित्रांमध्ये लोकप्रिय असतो. एकदा हे सगळे मित्र उटीला ट्रीपला जातात. त्यानंतर पुढील आयुष्यात काय करायचे अशी चर्चा सुरु होते त्यात सिद्धांत म्हणतो कि त्याला त्याच्या वडिलांच्या कंपनीत काम करण्यात खूप जास्त रस आहे. याचे वडील दिवाकर देशपांडे हे मेघना फूड प्रॉडक्ट या कंपनी मध्ये एम डी असतात. वडिलांची अशी इच्छा असते कि सिद्धांतचे शिक्षण झाले कि त्याला कंपनीचे एम डी करायचे आणि स्वत आर अॅंड डी मध्ये काम करायचे. पण सिद्धांतच्या नशिबात काही वेगळेच लिहिलेले असते. उटी हून कोइम्बतुर ला येताना त्यांच्या जीपला अपघात होतो आणि सिद्धांतला बराच मोठा अपघात होतो.

सिद्धांतची आई मरण पावली असते, आणि त्याच्या वडिलांचे लग्न मेघना कर्णिकशी झालेले असते. मेघना कर्णिकचे वडील आबासाहेब कर्णिक हे मेघना फूड प्रॉडक्टचे मालक असतात. सिद्धांतची आई मरण पावल्यावर आबासाहेब त्यांच्या मुलीचे म्हणजे मेघनाचे लग्न दिवाकर बरोबर लावून देतात. सिद्धांतला सावत्र आई येते. आता सिद्धांतला एक भाऊ पण असतो, याचे नाव यश. तर मेघना म्हणजे सिद्धांतची सावत्र आई, सिद्धांतवर प्रेम तर अजिबात करत नसते, पण सारखी यश आणि सिद्धांत मध्ये तुलना करत असते. आबासाहेबांना हे आवडत नसते, पण मुलगीच त्यांची, त्यामुळे ते फार काही बोलू शकत नाही. दिवाकर देखील मेघना कडे दुर्लक्ष करत असतो.

तर अशी परिस्थिती असलेला सिद्धांत अपघाताच्या विळख्यात सापडतो. वडील खूप धावपळ करतात. पण तरीही व्हायचे ते होऊन जाते. त्याच्या मेंदूला मार लागलेला असतो. डाव्या भागाला मार लागतो त्यामुळे, त्याच्या शरीराची उजवी बाजू पण नीट राहत नाही. अत्यंत हुशार असलेला मुलगा पांगळा होतो. त्याला बोलता येत नाही. नीट चालता येत नाही. दिवाकरला एकट्याला सोडून मेघना पुण्याला जाते, फॅक्टरीचे काम आबा बघायचे असे ठरवतात. बऱ्याच दिवसाने सिद्धांत अंथरुणातून उठतो, त्याला घरी घेऊन जायचे असे ठरते. तो घरी येतो, पण त्याचे घरी अजिबात चांगले स्वागत होत नाही.

मेघना त्याला खूप वाईट वागणूक देते, घरी नर्स आणल्या जाते, पण सिद्धांतचे नर्सशी पटत नाही. घरातील शांतता नष्ट होते, शेवटी दिवाकर, सिद्धांतला एका आश्रमात ठेवतो. त्या आश्रमात म्हणजे कामयानी विद्या मंदिर येथे त्याची रवानगी होते. इथे सिद्धांतचे मन रमत नाही. त्याला सारखे वाटते कि कधीतरी त्याला त्याचे वडील घरी घेऊन जातील. पण ते काही होत नाही, मग थोड्या दिवसात त्याला तेथील लोक चांगले वाटू लागतात. पण त्यांच्या आश्रमावर एक संकट येते. आश्रमाच्या संचालकांनी हे घर भाड्याने घेतलेले असते, आता त्या घराचा मालक ते घर रिकामे करायला सांगतो, नाहीतर ७० हजार रुपये द्या असे सांगतो. आता या अपंग मुलांकडून ७०००० रुपये कसे उभे करणार या विवंचनेत संचालक महाजन चिंतेत पडतात. शेवटी सिद्धांतचे पुढे काय होते, आश्रमावरील संकट दूर होते का ? हे बघा "सत्य" या सिनेमात.

सिनेमा अत्यंत टुकार आहे. काहीतरी करून गोष्टीची सांगड घालण्याचा प्रयान्त केला आहे. सगळ्या कलाकारांचा चुथडा केला आहे असे वाटले. या सिनेमात नक्की काय दाखवायचे होते हे समजत नाही. सिनेमात सुरवातीला एक हिंदी गाणं का घातला आहे हे पण कोड मला नक्कीच पडले. सिद्धांतचा बोलण्याचा प्रयत्न करणे, अगदी बालिश पानाचे वाटले. सिद्धांतचा सगळ्या जगावर राग काढण्याची जी पद्धत दाखवली आहे, ती पण अजिबात पटली नाही. त्यात ना काही अभिनय होता, ना काही ताकद.

एकूण हा सिनेमा बघू नये असा आहे.


Siddhant Diwakar Deshpande, is a bright and lovable boy studying Hotel Management in Coimbatore. Sanjana is his friend. He is very popular among his friends as he is bright and very helping and caring. Once while on picnic to Ooty, all are discussing about the future and their careers. Siddhant expresses his interest in joining his father's company and make career. His father is MD of a company called Meghana Food Products. He wishes that Siddhant joins his company as MD soon and he himself can work with the research and development for the company. But Siddhant's destiny has a different story. While returning from Ooty, they meet with an accident and Siddhant is the one who suffers the most.

Years back Siddhant had lost his mother and now his father has married Meghana, daughter of Aabasaheb Karnik and owner of Meghana Food Products. Siddhant had a step brother called Yash. Meghana is not as good to Siddhant as to Yash. She always likes to compare them. Abasaheb does not like this at all, but Meghana being his daughter, he just keeps mum. Same is the situation of Diwakar.

On hearing the news of the accident all rush to Coimbatore, and Diwakar tries all he could to save Siddhant. His life was saved, but has some brain injury. He develops kind of paralysis and is a handicapped person. He is not able to speak and walk. Meghana just leaves him and goes back to Pune and Aabasaheb decides to run the factory till things improve. Finally after few days Siddhant improves to level that he could go home. But on his return back home, he faces several problems.

Meghana is not treating him well at all. A nurse is brought home to take care of him, but he is not able to cope up with her, and has frequent problems. The whole house is troubled. Finally Diwakar decides to shift Siddhant in a nursing home (Aashram). He is sent to Kamayani Vidya Mandir. Siddhant is not really happy and eagerly waiting for his dad to come and take him home. Slowly he gets used to the place and starts getting friends with people there. But his life is still not free of troubles. The Kamayani mandir has rented the place, the the landlord now needs money, so he tell them to either pay him 70 thousand rupees, or vacate the place and go. Mahajan, the director of Kamayani is not sure how to handle this problem. How are they able to manage it? What role does Siddhant plays in it ? Does his father take him home ? Watch this in "Satya".

In general the storyline is not up to the mark of a good movie. All along it seems like a stretched story. So many talented artists are there but are not at all justified. It remains a mystry why there is a Hindi song sequence in the movie in the beginning. Siddhant's attempts to talk again after the accident look funny and childish. His anger expressions are not good too.

I would not recommend one to watch this, but if you have seen it, do write your comments on this.

मनातल्या मनात (Manatalya manat)

अमोल चिटणीस एक अतिशय निरागस, प्रसन्न, स्वच्छंद व मनमोकळी मुलगी एका कॉलेज मध्ये मराठीत
एम. ए. करत असते. हिला एक लहान भाऊ असतो. घरात आई, वडील आणि हि दोघे भावंडे असे राहत असतात. वडील प्रकाशक असतात. अमोल चिटणीस वर्गात जेव्हा शिक्षक कविता शिकवत असतात, तेव्हा त्या कवितांचे नुसते रसग्रहण करत नाही तर त्यात ती रममाण होते. वर्गात जास्त मुली आणि कमी मुलं असतात. एक दिवस अचानक फादर रोड्रीगो त्यांच्या कॉलेज मध्ये दाखल होतात. ते त्यांच्या वेशात येतात त्यामुळे सगळ्या मुलांना ओळखू येतात. प्रौढत्वाकडे झुकलेले फादर सगळ्यांच्या कुतूहलाचा विषय बनतात. पण फादर मात्र शांतपणे वर्गात एकटेच मागच्या बाकावर बसतात.

अभ्यंकर सर कविता शिकवत असतात, आणि बरेचदा सगळी मुलं त्यांची टर उडवत असतात. अमोलला अभ्यंकर सरांकडून बरेचदा टोमणे ऐकावे लागतात, कारण हि मुलगी कविता शिकवणे सुरु झाले कि त्यातील स्वप्नात रममाण होते.

फादर रोड्रीगो यांना मराठीत एम. ए. करण्याची खूप इच्छा असते, पण फादर झाल्यामुळे त्यांना वेळ मिळालेला नसतो. आता थोडा वेळ मिळाल्याने ते एम. ए. करण्याचे मनावर घेतात. वर्गात सगळी मुलं लहान आणि हे एकटेच मोठे, ह्यामुळे ह्यांना खूप अवघडल्यासारखे वाटते. ते अवघडलेपण अमोलच्या लगेच लक्षात येते व फादरला वर्गात सामावून घेण्याच्या दृष्टीने ती त्यांच्याशी गप्पा मारू लागते. फादर आणि अमोलची मैत्री वाढू लागते.

इकडे चर्च मध्ये एक मारिया नावाची मुलगी फादर रोड्रीगोला भेटायला येते आणि सांगते कि तिला फादर सम्युअल पासून दिवस गेले आहेत. रोड्रीगो, मारियाला सांगतो की ते सुपेरीअरशी बोलतील आणि फादर सम्युअलला तुझ्याशी लग्न करायला भाग पाडण्यात येईल. पण प्रत्यक्षात सुपेरीअर फादर, मारियाच्या आई वडिलांना तिचे लग्न दुसऱ्या मुलाशी करून देण्याचा सल्ला देतात. या निर्णयाने फादर रोड्रीगो खूप खिन्न होतात. या प्रसंगानंतर त्यांचा चर्चमध्ये असलेल्या मुल्यांवरील विश्वासाला तडा जातो.

फादर या गोष्टींवर खूप विचार करतात. सुपेरीअरच्या मताच्या विरुध्ध जातात, त्यामुळे सुपेरीअर त्यांना एका दूरच्या गावात सेवेसाठी पाठवू लागतो. त्यामुळे यांचे क्लासेस बुडू लागतात. फादर कॉलेज मध्ये येत नसल्याने इकडे, अमोल खूप अस्वस्थ होते. तिला त्यांची खूप काळजी वाटू लागते. फादर तिला तिथे भेटतात आणि मग अमोलला खूप बर वाटत. फादरला देखील अमोल भेटल्याने खूप छान वाटते. शेवटी या दोघांचे जुळलेले भावबंध त्यांना कुठवर आणि कशी साथ देतात, या भावबंधाचे पुढे काय होते हे बघा "मनातल्या मनात" या सिनेमामध्ये.

सिनेमा ठीक आहे. बघावाच असा काही नाही. सिनेमाचा शेवट मात्र अनपेक्षित आहे. फादर गावातून कॉलेज मध्ये जाताना, सायकलवर जातात, ते सारखे सारखे आणि बराच वेळ दाखवून खूप वेळ वाया घालवला आहे असे वाटते. गोष्ट खूप वाढवता आली नाही पण सिनेमाची वेळ तर कमी करायची नाही या तत्वामुळे, हा वेळ घालवला आहे कि काय असा प्रश्न पडतो. त्याचप्रमाणे, अमोल आणि फादर रोद्रिगो मध्ये धर्मावर झालेले संवाद खूप खोटे वाटतात. फादर जेव्हा सांगतात कि सगळे धर्म म्हणजे अंतिम ध्येयाकडे नेणाऱ्या वेगवेगळ्या वाटा आहेत. हे वाक्य अगदीच खोटे वाटते, कारण ख्रिश्चन धर्माच्या मते, येशू हाच फक्त मार्ग आहे. हे वाक्य हिंदू धर्माचे म्हणून अमोलच्या तोंडी घातले असते तर ते जास्त भावले असते.

फादर रोद्रिगो म्हणून गिरीश ओक आहे. अर्थात त्यांनी काम चांगले केले आहे, यात वादच नाही. अमोल (बहुदा हेमांगी कवी) हिचे काम ठीक आहे. सिनेमा सगळ्यांनी एकत्र बघता येईल असा आहे, पण सिनेमाच मुळात "बघावाच" या विभागात मोडत नसल्याने, फार वेळ असल्यास सिनेमा बघा.

Amol Chitnis is a pleasant, open minded and simple girl doing her MA in Marathi. She has a younger brother in 10th standard. They has a happy family with parents. Her father is publisher of books and mother is home maker. Amol had a habit of enjoying poems in the class, and frequently gets lost in the thoughts about it, living them in the dreams. As expected there are few boys and more girls in the class doing MA in Marathi.

One day Father Rodridgo comes to the class with intention to join college for MA. Since he is in his robe,  everyone know he is a Father in a church. He is a middle aged man much older than most of the students, so all the students are curious about him. But Father is well composed person and sits on one of the class benches.

From first day itself Amol develops friendship with Father. She learns that Father was very much interested in perusing MA in Marathi but since he had to serve church, he could not pursue his MA that time. Now with some time to spare he decides to take up that wish and joins college. He is also planning to restart the magazine, which was closed down by the church due to lack of interested personnel to run it. Amol is helping him to bridge the generation gap between Father and other students in class, and very soon they are good friends.

One of those days in the church Father meets a girl called Maria, who is frequent church visitor. She seems very upset and on further probing revels that she is pregnant and carrying a child of Father Samuel. Rodrigo promises her to talk to Father superior and permit Father Samuel to marry her. As per the promise he goes and talks to Father superior. But Father superior advises Maria's parents to marry her off to another person. Father Rodrigo is sad and disturbed due to this incidence. He looses his faith on the church and its value system.

Father Rodrigo is deeply thinking about all this, discusses this with some of his colleagues and finally goes back to Father Superior and discusses this. In return Father Superior sends him to another church for extra work. As a result he is not able to attend classes. Amol tries to contact Father in his absence and is worried about his well being. Finally looking for him she reaches the church and meets Father Rodrigo there. Both are very happy so see each other after a while. Amol invites him for a dinner at her home. This is a beginning of a delicate emotional relationship between them. The movie develops nicely from hereafter.

The movie is OK and not in "must watch" category. The movie ends with a bit of unexpected and interesting twist. At times movie gets repetitive like the Father riding bicycle from his church to the college. Some interesting discussions between Father Rodrigo and Amol on religion. One of the Father's statement is All the religions are different paths leading to the same ultimate god. This does not really fit into conventional Christen preaching but fits more with the understanding of Hinduism, so would have been appropriate if said by Amol.

Girish Oak as Father looks good and he has acted well. Hemangi Kavi as Amol is good too. The movie is a family movie and can be watched with children. Final note is watch the movie if you have time do and comment on the movie and review in the comments section.
