गुड बॉय (Good Boy)

ओवेन हा एक १२-१३ वर्षाचा मुलगा त्याच्या आई वडिलांबरोबर राहत असतो. याच्या आई वडिलांना घर घेऊन त्यात थोडे दिवस राहून मग ते घर जास्त किमतीला विकण्याचा खूप उत्साह असतो. त्यामुळे ओवेन बऱ्याच वेगवेगळ्या घरात राहिलेला असतो. मुख्य म्हणजे त्याला सारखं घर बदलण्याचा कंटाळा आलेला असतो. सारखे घर बदलणे, नवीन शेजार, त्यातून ओवेनचा एकलकोंडा स्वभाव, त्यामुळे याला मित्र तसे कमीच असतात. कमीच असतात असे म्हणण्यापेक्षा याला कोणीच मित्र नसतात. परंतु याला कुत्रांबद्दल खूप प्रेम असते. आणि याची अशी इच्छा असते कि घरी एक कुत्रे पाळावे.

अर्थात आई-वडिलांना खूप मान्य नसते. त्यामुळे ते ओवेनला सांगतात कि तू शेजारील लोकांच्या कुत्रांना रोज सातत्याने फिरवले तर आम्ही तुला कुत्रा घेऊन देऊ. ओवेनला कुत्रांचे इतके वेड असते की तो ही अट मान्य करतो. त्याप्रमाणे तो ४ कुत्रांना रोज फिरायला घेऊन जातो. प्रत्येक कुत्रा हा वेगळ्या जातीचा असतो. ओवेनला सगळ्या कुत्रांबरोबर खेळायला त्यांना रोज फिरायला न्यायला खूप आवडते. हा रोज सकाळी त्यांना घेऊन जाणार आणि तेव्हाच त्याच्या शेजारील काही टारगट मुलं याल चिडवणार असा नित्य नियमच असतो. ओवेन तरीही त्यांच्या कडे दुर्लक्ष करून त्याचे काम इमाने इतबारे करत असतो. या मुलांमध्येच एक मुलगी असते "केनी". तिला या टारगट मुलांचे वागणे मान्य नसते पण तिचा त्याबाबत काहीच इलाज नसतो.

तर अश्या या ओवेनला त्याच्या मेहनितीमुळे आई-वडिलांकडून कुत्रा पाळण्याची परवानगी मिळते. पेट स्टोर मध्ये एक कुत्रा पसंत पडतो. तो कुत्रा घरी आणल्या जातो त्याचे नाव हबल असे ठेवतो. तर हा हबल खूप हुशार असतो. आता कुत्र्याला ट्रेनिंग द्यायचे म्हणून ओवेन त्याला पटांगणावर घेऊन जातो. पहिल्या सांगण्यातच हबल सगळे करतो, हे बघून ओवेन खूप आश्चर्यचकित होतो. एक दिवस रात्री, हबल घरातून बाहेर पडतो, तेव्हा नेमकी ओवेनला जाग येते. तो पण हबलच्या मागे जातो तर त्याला दिसते कि हबल एका स्पेसशिपच्या जवळ जातो आहे आणि तिथून त्याला काही संदेश येत आहेत. ओवेन, हबलला हाका मारतो, हबल अचानक ओवेनचा आवाज ऐकून दचकतो आणि त्याच्या मशीनमधील काही किरणे ओवेनच्या अंगावर पडतात. त्यानंतर ओवेनला कुत्रांची भाषा कळायला लागते.

हबल मग ओवेनशी अगदी नीट गप्पा करू लागतो. हबल इथे का आला आहे, त्याचा उद्देश काय हे सगळे हबलला सांगतो. तर हबल हा एक परग्रहावरून आलेला एक कुत्रा असतो. त्याच्या माहितीनुसार पृथ्वीवर आलेली सगळीच कुत्री परग्रहावरून आले आहेत. परग्रहावरील प्रमुखांनी सगळ्या कुत्रांना इथे पाठवले, जेणे करून सगळी कुत्री इथे राज्य करतील. आता सगळी कुत्री नक्की काय करत आहेत याचा सविस्तर रिपोर्ट देण्यासाठी हबल इथे आलेला आहे. हे सगळे ऐकून सुरवातीला ओवेनला गम्मत वाटते. पण मग इतर कुत्र्यांचे बोलणे ऐकून ओवेनला ते पटते.

इथे आल्यावर सगळ्या कुत्रांची जी स्थिती आहे ती बघून हबल हबकून जातो. तो बघतो कि इथे कुत्र्याला पाळीव प्राणी म्हणून पाळले जाते. सगळी कुत्री माणसांचे बोलणे ऐकतात. हबल ओवेनला सांगतो की आता हा रिपोर्ट गेला, कि सिरिअस या ग्रहावरून पृथ्वीवरील कुत्र्यांना बोलावणे येईल. आणि जगातील सगळी कुत्री नष्ट होतील. ते जर का टाळायचे असेल तर जेव्हा सिरिअस वरील प्रमुख इथे भेट देईल तेव्हा, सगळ्या कुत्रांनी वेगळ्या पद्धतीने वागायला हवे. ओवेनला मिळालेला हा एकुलता एक मित्र, त्याला सोडून जाईल या भीतीने तो म्हणतो कि आपण सगळ्या कुत्रांना शिकवू या. मग हबल सगळ्या कुत्रांना वेगवेगळ्या पद्धती शिकवतो, ज्या त्यांच्या मुळ ग्रहावर सगळी कुत्री करत असतात. शेवटी हबल त्याच्या मिशनमध्ये यशस्वी होतो का? हबल पुन्हा सिरिअस वर परत जातो का ? हे बघा "गुड बॉय" मध्ये.

सिनेमा मस्त आहे. लहान मुलांना तर अगदीच नक्की आवडेल. बरीच कल्पनाशक्ती लावून हि गोष्ट लिहिली आहे असे वाटते. सगळ्या कुत्रांचा अभिनय बघून चाट व्हायला होते. या कुत्रांना त्यांच्या ट्रेनरने कसे शिकवले असेल याचे आश्चर्य तर निश्चित वाटते. ओवेन हा त्याच्या पात्रासाठी एकदम योग्य वाटला. सिनेमा लहान मुलांना नक्कीच दाखवावा.

Owen is a boy in his early teens staying with his parents. His parents always buy a house, stay in that for few days and sell it for a better price. This has led Owen stay in several different houses. Bit now he is getting fade up of this regular shifting of houses. Owen is a lonely child and hardly has any friends. But he likes to make friends with dogs and he really wants to have one as a pet.


His parents are not too much in favor of his plan to get a dog. So to indirectly avoid this they make a deal with Owen. If he regularly helps some of the dog owners in the neighborhood, to walk their dogs, they will let him have one. Owen loves dogs so much that he happily agrees to this and starts walking four different dogs. All the four dogs are of different breeds and Owen starts to enjoy his new task of walking the dogs and playing with them. When every morning Owen takes the dogs for the walk few naughty kids used to tease him.Owen is very sincere in his work and always ignores the kids teasing him. One of the kids there was Keny, she id not happy with the kids teasing Owen, but she is also helpless.

Looking at Owen's hard work his parents decide to get him a dog. They go to the pet store and Owen liks a dog. His parents get that dog for him. He names the dog Hubble. This new dog Hubble turns out to be a very cleaver dog. When Owen takes him to the ground and start to train him, he is really surprised. Hubble is very quick learner and learns almost all the things Owen wants him to do.


One night while in his bed, Owen senses Hubble is going out of the house. So out of curiosity Owen follows him. Hubble goes out and walks up to a space sheep. Hubble is communicating with the spaceship and Owen calls him. Hubble is startled due to this, and in the process Owen is exposed to some rays coming out of the spaceship. Owen starts to understand the language the dogs use from that moment.

Hubble is very good friend of Owen now and they can communicate like good friends. Over the time Hubble explains Owen why he is on earth. Hubble is from a planner called Serious, and in fact all the dogs are form the same planet. The dogs are supposed to rule the earth and that is why they are all sent. Not the chiefs want to know the progress the dogs have made and that is the reason Hubble is sent. Owen finds this hilarious to start with but after carefully listening to many dogs, he is convinced this is the truth.

Hubble is scared to see the situation the dogs are in here. He is surprised to see the dogs kept as pets by humans. More surprised to see that all the dogs are obeying the humans. Now once this reports reaches the planet Serious, all the dogs would be called back. There will not be any dogs on earth. If this is to be avoided, when the chiefs visit earth to check out, dogs should be able to convince that they are in command. Owen is sad with the thought that he might loose his only friend Hubble.

So Hubble and Owen decide to work together train and teach all the dogs. Hubble teaches all of them the way the dogs are behaving on the planet Serious. We need to watch the Movie to see how much they are successful and if Hubble gets to live with Owen or not.

The movie is really good and a must watch for kids. The story is really well written and all the dogs have really played the roles very well. While watching the movie, we are amazed by the great job done by the trainers. Owen is played very well by the boy too.

सायलेंट वॉटर (Silent Waters)

ही गोष्ट १९७९ सालची पाकिस्तानातील चरखी नावाच्या ठिकाणाची. जेव्हा १९४७ साली फाळणी झाली तेव्हा येथील शीख लोक सगळे भारतात पळून आले. तेथील मुसलमानांनी हिंदू स्त्रियांवर अत्याचार केले. बऱ्याच स्त्रियांनी अब्रू वाचवण्यासाठी आत्म्याहत्या केली. काही मुलींना आणि स्त्रियांना त्यांच्या कुटुंबीयांनी आत्महत्या करायला भाग पडले त्या पार्श्वभूमीवर बेतलेला हा सिनेमा आहे.

तर सलीम आणि त्याची आई आयेशा हे दोघे या छोट्याश्या गावात राहत असतात. या गावातील सगळे लोक मुसलमान असतात. पण ते कट्टर मुस्लीम नसतात. त्यांच्या मते धर्माचे पालन करायला पाहिजे, पण त्याधीही माणुसकीचे पालन जास्त महत्वाचे. अश्या विचारसारणीचे हे गाव असते. आयेशाचा नवरा अफसान हा आता हयात नसतो. अफसानच्या मिळणाऱ्या पेन्शन वर आयेशा घर चालवत असते. सलीम आता वयात आलेला मुलगा असतो. त्याचे शिक्षण झालेले असते आणि तो पुढे काय करायचे हे अजून ठरवत असतो. तिथेच राहणारे भट्टी सहबांनी त्याला गुरुद्वाराच्या जवळच्या दुकानात नोकरी दिलेली असते पण ती त्याला करायची नसते. सलीमचे तेथील शाळेत जाणाऱ्या झुबेदा या मुलीवर प्रेम असते. झुबेदा आयेशाला आवडत असते. त्यामुळे तसा या दोघांच्या लग्नात काहीच प्रोब्लेम नसतो.

पण गावात असे काही प्रसंग घडतात, ज्यामुळे सलीम आणि आयेशाच्या जीवनात उलथापालथ होते. त्याच दरम्यान पाकिस्तानातील राजकीय परिस्थितीत भुट्टोला जनरल झिया उल हकने फाशीवर दिलेले असते आणि पाकिस्तानवर आता मुसलमानी पगडा घट्ट रोवला जातो. झिया उल हकच्या विचारांचे पगडे असलेले २ तरुण (रशीद आणि त्याचा मित्र) त्यांच्या गावात येतात. ते गावातील सगळ्या लोकांच्या मनावर आपण मुसलमान आहोत आणि भारतीयांबरोबर चांगला व्यवहार करायला नको अशी शिकवण पसरवतात. सुरवातीला काही लोक त्यांच्या या विचारधारेला नाकारतात. पण शेवटी सगळ्या मुसलमानांवर अगदी लहानपणापासून होत असलेल्या संस्काराप्रमाणे धर्म सगळ्यात मोठा असतो. काही लोक म्हणजे त्या गावात असलेला नाव्ही मेहबूब हा या दोघांचा बराच विरोध करतो. तसेच अमीन नावाचा शिपाई देखील या सगळ्या प्रकाराने दुखी होतो. रशीद आणि त्याचा मित्र,  सलीम आणि त्याचा मित्र-मंडळींना त्यांच्या ग्रुप मध्ये सामील करून घेतात.

आयेशा कधीच विहिरीवर पाणी आणायला जात नाही. त्यामुळे सगळीकडे चर्चिले जाणारे विषय तिला फार लवकर समजत नाहीत. म्हणून आयेशाला या सगळ्या प्रकारची माहिती नसते. तिच्या घरी पाणी आणून द्यायला अल्लाबी आणि तिची मुलगी शन्नो येत असतात. आयेशा सगळ्या लहान मुलींना कुराण समजावून सांगत असते. पण तिचे कुराण समजावणे म्हणजे अल्ला हा एकटाच देव नसून, हा एक प्रकारचा देव आहे, दुसर्या देवाची प्रार्थना केली तरी तुम्हाला मुक्ती मिळू शकेल अश्या प्रकारची शिकवण देते. हे बोलणे रशीद आणि त्याचा मित्र ऐकतो. आयेशाची हि असली शिकवण ऐकून रशीद व मंडळी तिच्या घरी येणाऱ्या सगळ्या मुलींवर बंदी घालतात. त्याच दरम्यान भारत आणि पाकिस्तानात करार होतो त्यानुसार त्यांच्या गावात असलेल्या गुरुद्वारात दर्शन घेण्यासाठी भारतातून काही शीख मंडळी येतात. या लोकांच्या भेटीने गावातील एकूण गोष्टींना वेगळेच स्वरूप मिळते. ते नक्की काय असते, आयेशाचा भूतकाळ नक्की काय असतो, झुबेदा आणि सालिमचे पुढे काय होते हे बघा "सायलेंट वाटर" मध्ये.

हे सिनेमा कुठल्या भाषेत आहे हे समजले नाही. उर्दू किंवा पंजाबी भाषेत असावा असे वाटले. सिनेमा तसा छोटा आहे. त्यातील पाकिस्तानातील परिस्थिती, तेथील गाव, एकूण जीवन खूप चांगले उभारले आहे. सिनेमा चांगला आहे. एकूण राजकारणी लोकांमुळे  देशातील लोकांच्या मनात एक कटुता आली आहे असे दाखवण्याचा चांगला प्रयत्न आहे.

माझ्या लिखाणावर किंवा तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यास इथे अभिप्राय जरूर द्या.

This is story from 1979, from a town called Charakhi in Pakistan. At the time of Partition between India and Pakistan, most Sikhs migrated to India from the town. There were lot of unpleasant incidences and several ladies committed suicide to save themselves from being raped. In several families, family members helped or forced women to commit suicides. This story is base these circumstances.

Salim and his mother Ayesha are residents of this small town. Almost all the population of the town is Muslim, but they are not hardliners and they believe in religion as well as humanity. Afsan, is Ayesha's late husband, and Ayesha is running the family on his pension. Salim is a young man, who is just finished his education and is trying to settle himself in life. Salim is offered a good job in a shop near the local Gurudwara but Salim does not want to work there. Salim is in love with Zubeda who is just finishing her school education. Zubeda is a nice girl and Ayesha is also happy with her.

Salim and Ayesha's life is in turmoil now, with some of the incidences in the town. During this time, General Zia Ul Haq has come to power and he has hanged the prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and hardliner Muslim thoughts are becoming more mainstream in Pakistan. A young man, Rashid and his friends who are followers of Zia Ul Haq come to their town. They start convincing people that they are hardliners and need to keep the Indians away. Initially people who have been together with people form all streams did not pay attention, but slowly people start thinking on their lines. Some people like Mehboob a barber and Amin a soldier oppose them, and are sad due to these new developments, which they feel are unhealthy for the society.

Ayesha is not aware of all these happenings in the town. She always have Allabi and Shanno to help her with fetching water, so she hardly gets chance to mingle with other ladies to get these gossips and stories. She teaches Kuran to several girls of the neighborhood. Her school of thought is more liberal than the hardliners and she preaches that there are several ways towards finale solace and Allah is on of them. Once Rashid and his friends get to hear her preaching and they immediately decide to involve Salim in their group. Very soon they stop Ayesh's preaching with help of Salim. During this time there was treaty signed between India and Pakistan, which allows Indian Sikhs to visit their town Gurudwara to offer prayers. This again changes the whole atmosphere of the town. This brings Ayesha's unknown history in front of people. To know what it was, what happens to Salim and Zubeda's relationship, and the future of the town watch "Silent Water" or Khamosh Pani.

The movie is in a mixture of Punjabi and Urdu. It is small movie, beautifully showing the small village and its life in Pakistan's Punjab. The movie is good and powerfully shown how at times politics spoils otherwise good and peaceful human relations between neighbors.

नॉट ओन्ली मिसेस राऊत (Not Only Mrs. Raut)

विद्या - आनंद व त्यांची मुलगी स्नेहा यांचा त्रिकोणी संसार खूप सुखी असतो. अचानक आनंदला कावीळ होते आणि आनंद या दोघींना सोडून निघून जातो. विद्या नोकरी करतच असते. स्नेह वडील गेल्याचे दुख हळू हळू विसरते. स्नेहा वडील सतत आपल्या बरोबर आहेत अशी एक मनाची समजूत करून आयुष्य सुरु करते. विद्याच्या बॉसचे नाव कारखानीस असते. विद्याला ५०००० रुपये द्यायचे असतात तेव्हा कारखानीस तिला मदत करतात. त्या दोघांची मैत्री वाढते.

पण तरीही विद्या त्याचा खून करते. तिचे वकील पत्र घ्यायला म्हणून स्वाती दांडेकर खूप उत्सुक असते. स्वाती दांडेकर हिचा नवरा आणि मोठे दीर दोघेही खूप नामवंत वकील असतात. ती या दोघांच्या हाताखाली वकिली शिकते, पण जेव्हा ती विद्या राउत ची केस हातात घेते, हे ह्या दोघांना पण मान्य नसते, पण तरीही हट्टाला पेटून ती हि केस लढवायची तयारी करते. पण जेव्हा ती विद्याशी बोलायला जाते, तेव्हा विद्या तिच्याशी बोलायलाच तयार होत नाही. विद्याचे म्हणणे असते कि तिने खून केला आहे आणि तिला तो मान्य आहे. तिला केस लढवायची नाही. शेवटी वकील गरुड स्वातीच्या मदतीस येतो. मग स्वाती विद्याने कारखानिसचा खून का केला याचा शोध घेते. शेवटी स्वातीला काय सापडते, ती घरातील वकिलांशी कशी लढते, आणि विद्याला खरच न्याय मिळतो का बघा "नॉट ओन्ली मिसेस राऊत" मध्ये.

सिनेमा अत्यंत सुंदर आहे. जरूर बघावा असा. मधुरा वेलणकर आणि वंदना गुप्ते यांच्या मधील २-३ मिनिटाचे संवाद खूप विचारणीय आहेत. सिनेमात खूपच नामवंत कलाकार आहेत आणि सगळ्यांनी खूपच मस्त अभिनय केला आहे. सिनेमा आपल्यासमोर असा हळुवार उलगडत जातो. सिनेमाची सुरवातच खुनाने होते आणि पण हिने खरच का खून केलाय असा विचार करत असतानाच कथा मस्त उलगडत जाते. सिनेमाचा शेवट देखील आशादायी केला आहे. जरूर बघाच आणि तुमच्या प्रतिक्रिया पण लिहा.

Anand, Vidya and Sneha is a happy Raut family based in Mumbai. Anand is in a small business, and Vidya working as secretary in a firm. Anand dies due to Hepatetis. Sneha is school going, and manages to collect herself saying her dad is always around her. For Sneha's education Vidya decides to stay in Mumbai rather than going back to Goa with her mother.

Vidya has to pay back fifty thousand, Anand had borrowed from a money lender. Vidya takes this money on loan from her boss Mr. Karkhanis. They get friendly and Mr Karkhanis likes to spend time with her.

In turn of some incidences Vidya kills Mr. Karkhanis and reports to the police station the murder she has committed. She refuses to accept a lawyer, but Swati Dandekar a upcoming lawyer insists to take up the case. Her husband and Brother in law are very renowned lawyers in the city. They did now want Swati to take this case, but she insists and take it up. Vidya Raut is not willing to cooperate at all in the begining. Another lawyer Garud helps Swati. Garud was Vidya's lawyer in earlier case. Finally they get Vidya talking and they have to fight one of the toughest case. Swati also has hurdles from her family members in the case. What kind of struggle Swati has to undergo and if she is able to help Vidya to get justice need to be seen in the movie.

The movie opens with the murder scene, and then slowly takes us through the background in flashback. Several renowned actors have given justice to their roles and overall a really good product. A must watch if you like this kind of movies with court scenes. One more feather in Gajendra Ahire's cap I would say.
