डोम्बिवली फास्ट (Dombivali Fast)

माधव श्रीधर आपटे हा एक मध्यमवर्गीय नोकरदार माणूस. बँकेत नोकरी. रोज सकाळी त्याच वेळेस उठणार, तीच लोकल पकडणार, बँकेत जाणार त्याच प्रकारचे काम करणार, संध्याकाळी घरी येणार. घरी आल्यावर मुलीला प्रेमाने जेऊ घालणार, मग झोपणार. रोजचा तोच कार्यक्रम. त्यात काहीच फेरबदल नाही. यांना दोन मुलं प्राची आणि राहुल. राहुल मोठा आणि प्राची लहान. बायको नोकरी न करता घरीच गृहिणी असते. कारण माधव आपटे याला बायकोने नोकरी करू नये तर घरीच राहून मुलांवर संस्कार करावे अशी इच्छा असते आणि त्याप्रमाणे ती नोकरी करत नाही. घरात राहून, सारखी घरकाम करून वैतागते. त्यातून माधव आपटेची तत्व हीच डोकं खातात. खूप तत्वनिष्ठ असल्याने, लाच घेणे तर दूरच, पण लाच देण्याला पण नाकारत असतो. बँकेत नोकरी असल्याने तशी कमी काहीच नसते, पण अगदी उधळता येतील असे पैसे देखील नसतात. त्यामुळे जेव्हा राहुल तीन विषयात नापास होतो तेव्हा त्यामागील कारण नक्की काय याची राहुलला विचारणा होते. राहुल सांगतो कि कितीही अभ्यास केला तरी तो पास होणार नाही कारण त्याने त्याच्या शिक्षकाकडे शिकवणी लावली नाही. हे ऐकल्यावर बायको माधव आपटेच्या मागे लागते कि त्याला शिकवणी लावा. पण माधव आपटेच्या तत्वात शिकवणी म्हणजे लाच देण्याचा वेगळा प्रकार असेच असते. त्यामुळे तो त्याला नकार देतो.

खूप पैसे नसल्याने आपटे परिवार चाळीत राहत असतात, तिथे पाण्याचा प्रॉब्लेम असतो. तिथे रोज टँकरने पाणी येते. तो मुकादम, रोज लाच दिल्याशिवाय पाणी सोडत नाही. हे बघून माधव आपटे खूप वैतागतो.
ऑफिस मध्ये जातो, तर एक मोठा व्यापारी कागदपत्र न देताच लोनची मागणी करतो. माधव म्हणतो कि कागदपत्र आणून दे लगेच लोन देता येईल. पण हा मनुष्य बँकेच्या मनेजर कडे जातो आणि मॅनेजर
त्याचे लोन मान्य करतो. हे बघून माधव आपटेला खूप संताप येतो.

त्याच्या मुलीला शाळेत प्रवेश घ्यायचा असतो. तिथे शाळेची प्राध्यापिका, प्राचीला प्रवेश द्यायला तयार होते पण सांगते कि जर तुम्ही ३५००० रुपये डोनेशन दिले तरच प्रवेश दिला जाईल. सकाळपासून झालेल्या घटना बघितल्या तर माधव आपटेला एक सुसूत्रता दिसते. वेगवेगळ्या रुपात लोक काय करत आहेत, तर लाच मागत आहेत. कोणालाच कशाचीच मुल्ये शिल्लक राहिलेली नाहीत. माधव आपटे या डोनेशनला नकार देतो आणि आपटे परिवार घरी येतो. चांगल्या शाळेत प्रवेश डावलला गेला, कारण माधव आपटेने डोनेशन दिले नाही याचे त्याच्या बायकोला खूप म्हणजे खूप राग येतो. ती रागाच्या भरात माधवशी खूप भांडते व माधवला म्हणते कि नुसती तत्व तत्व काय करत बसलात, काही करून दाखवले तर या तत्वाला अर्थ.

डोक्याने तापलेला माधव ऑफिस मध्ये येतो तर ऑफिस मध्ये सगळे जण, त्या व्यापाऱ्याने दिलेल्या भेटवस्तू घेऊन खुश असतात. माधवला खूप चीड येते. मग बाहेर जाऊन पाण्याची बाटली विकणारा जास्त पैसे मागतो, त्याने हा वैतागतो. की याची मेहनतीची कमाई लोक कसे लाटत आहेत. आणि संतापाच्या भरात माधव या सगळ्यांना धडा शिकवण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो. आणि माधव आपटेचे एक भयंकर उग्र रूप लोकांना दिसते. माधव आपटे प्रकरणात सुभाष  अनासपुरे नावाचा पोलीस अधिकारी लक्ष घालतो, या अधिकाऱ्याचे माधवच्या गुन्ह्याबद्दल काय मत होतं ? माधव आपटे सगळ्या लोकांना धडा शिकवू शकतो का? पोलीस त्याचा कसा बंदोबस्त करतात ? माधव आपटेच्या कृत्यांबद्दल लोकांचे काय मत असते हे बघा "डोंबिवली फास्ट" या सिनेमात.

सिनेमाचा शेवट खूप दुख दायक आहे. सिनेमातील सगळे प्रसंग मनाला भिडून जातात कारण सगळी सामान्य माणसे या अनुभवातून कधी न कधी तरी गेलेलीच आहेच. लाच दिल्याशिवाय कुठेच काही होत नाही, हे सध्या तरी आपल्या देशात अगदीच शक्य आहे. माधव आपटेचा, चित्र काढणाऱ्या मतीमंद मुलाच्या समोरील संवाद खूप उत्तम आहे. मतीमंद मुलाच्या समोर हे सगळे संवाद, म्हणजे भिंतीसमोर सगळे बोलल्यासारखे आहे. आणि खर तर तशीच परिस्थिती भारतात आहे हे दाखवण्याचा प्रयत्न छान वाटला. माधव आपटेच्या तोंडी असलेले वाक्य "मान मोडून जगताना एखाद्याने मान वर केली तर ती मान आम्ही खाली दाबायची" खूप म्हणजे खूप आवडले.

संदीप कुलकर्णी आणि शिल्पा तुळसकर दोघेही उत्तम. सगळेच पोलीस वाईट नाही, शिवाय त्यांच्या सिस्टम मध्ये राहून देखील काही चांगल्या गोष्टी करू शकतात हे दाखवण्याचा एक प्रयत्न केला आहे. सिनेमा जरूर बघाच. बघितला नाही तर एक चांगला सिनेमा हुकला असे मी नक्कीच म्हणीन.

माझ्या लिखाणावर किंवा तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यास व तुम्हाला काही नवीन वेगळ्या गोष्टी आवडल्या असतील तर प्रतिक्रिया जरूर लिहा.



Madhav Shridhan Apte, is a typical middle class working gentleman staying in Dombivali. He is working for a bank, and leading a routine life. Every day same time to wake up, catch the same local, same type of work in his bank, return by the same local train, spend some time with his daughter and sleep. A very repetitive life. His family consists of his wife, who is home maker, two children, elder son Rahul and younger daughter Prachi. He feels that his wife should not work but stay at home and spend time with kids to bring them up well. She is not very happy with the decision of always staying at home and doing the house work. Madhav is a very principled man and that is a bit too much. This is also bothering his wife form time to time. Because of his bank job, he is earning well, but does not have too much money too spend.

Rahul flunks in three subjects and Apte family is trying to get to reason for the consequence. Rahul discloses that even if he studies hard, he can not pass because the teacher expects every student to attend his extra tuition classes for extra money. Madhav's wife requests him to get Rahul in the process, but he does not agree to this because this is kind of bribe which is against his principle.

Next incidence is Madhav is living in a chawl, which always faces water shortage. Water is supplied by a water tanker, and the operator needs tidbits of bribe to release water for residents. This makes Madhav upset. On reaching office there was a big businessman demanding some loan, without completing formalities of the paper work. Madhav denies the processing. He goes to higher officer and gets the loan passed and shows off in front of Madhav. This is really annoying for Madhav.

Later Madhav goes to good school near his house for his daughter's school admission. The principal agrees to admit her in school but demands Rs. 35,000 as donation. Now Madhav is really upset with the way everybody is tying to get money from him as a common man. How bribe has become part of Indian life. He denies to pay the donation and Apte family returns home without the school admission. At this point his wife is really upset with him. She started a heated argument with Madhav and in the process says that these is no use just talking and living by principles, but he need to show what he can do with them.

Upset Madhav on reaching his office is greeted by all his collegues very happy and busy looking at the gifts the same big businessman has given for passing his loan. He could not control his anger and decides to go out for awhile. Being summer time it is really hot outside and he goes to nearby stall to buy a bottle of water. When the seller demands two rupees more than the real price, Madhav looses his temper all together. He does something really unsual and scary that terrorize the whole Mumbai city for a while. Watch the movie Dombivali Fast to see what does he do ? How that affects several people ? What common man of Mumbai think about it ? What was Police department's reaction ? Was Madhav successful in his attempt to teach a lesson to all concerned ?

The movie ends with sad note. Many of the scenes are touching. These are kind of things happening in common man's life. The way the whole society has to pay bribe at every step and they have come to terms with it. There is an interesting scene where Madhav is talking to a mentallly retarded boy artist. Though Madhav is talking so much, the boy does not understand anything but Madhav fees so good because he could talk it out to someone. Some such scenes are really good.

Both Sandeep Kulkarni and Shilpa Tulaskar are very good in the movie. The police officer is also good, they tried to show in the movie how there are some good officers in the department and how they can contribute even within the system.

वॉटर (Water)

१९३८ साली भारतात बाल विवाह आणि सतीची प्रथा होती. तर हा सिनेमा त्याकाळातील त्यांच्या आयुष्यावर आधारित आहे तर चुयीया हि एक ९ वर्षाची मुलगी. जिचे एका ३० वर्षाच्या माणसाशी लग्न झालेले असते. चुयीयाला हे आठवत देखील नसते कि तिचे लग्न झाले आहे. तर तिचा नवरा काहीश्या आजाराने मारतो. आता विधवा स्त्री कडे दोनच पर्याय असतात. एकतर सती जाणे किंवा विधवा म्हणून आयुष्यभर जगणे. ते जगणे पण घरी नाही तर विधवा आश्रम मध्ये जाऊन राहणे. आई - वडील गरीब असतात. ते चुयीयाला विधवा आश्रमामध्ये आणून सोडतात. चुयीयाला काहीही समजत नाही. तिच्या कायम वाटत असते कि आपली आई, आपल्याला इथून कधीतरी घेऊन जाईल.

या विधवा आश्रमाची प्रमुख एक मधुमती नावाची गलेलठ्ठ विधवा असते. ती त्यामानाने दुष्टच असते. ही मधुमती हा आश्रम चालवत असते. पण आश्रमातील सगळी काम शकुंतला म्हणून दुसरी एक विधवाच करत असते. शकुंतला मनाने खूप चांगली असते. मुख्य म्हणजे हिला लिहिता-वाचता येत असते. हिला विधवा प्रथेबद्दल काहीच प्रेम नसते. पण पूर्वी काही दुसरे करणे शक्यच नसल्याने हि बिचारी तिथेच आपले भोग भोगत असते. एक खूपच जख्ख म्हातारी "बुवा" सारखी लाडू मागत असते. ह्या म्हातारीला हिचे लग्न आणि त्यात तिने खाल्लेले खूप मिठाईचे पदार्थ हे आठवत असते. कल्याणी नावाची एक तरुण आणि सुंदर विधवा इथेच राहत असते. हिचेच केस फक्त कापलेले नसतात. हिला जरा चांगली वागणूक मिळत असते. कारण मधुमती आणि गुलाबी नावाचा एक हिजडा हिला पैसे कमवायला जमीनदारांच्या कडे पाठवत असतात. त्यामुळे हीच या आश्रमाची एकमेव पैसा कमावणारी विधवा असते. एकूण सगळ्याच विधवा त्यांच्या नशिबी आलेले भोग निमुटपणे भोगत असतात.

तर अश्या आश्रमात चुयीया आल्याने जरा हालचाल जास्त होते. कारण हि अगदीच लहान असते. चुयीयाची बुवा, कल्याणी आणि शकुंतला बरोबर चांगली मैत्री होती. शकुंतला चुयीयावर मनापासून प्रेम करते तसेच कल्याणी देखील. शकुंतलाचे चुयीयावर आईसारखे प्रेम असते तर कल्याणीचे मोठ्या बहिणीसारखे. कल्याणीकडे एक छोटेसे कालू नावाचे कुत्र्याचे पिल्लू असते. चुयीया या पिल्लाबरोबर खेळत असते. एकदा त्याला गंगेवर अंघोळ घालत असताना ते पिल्लू पळत खूप दूर जातं आणि चुयीया त्याच्या मागे धावते. पिल्लाला एक नारायण नावाचा तरुण मुलगा पकडतो आणि मग नारायणची चुयीया बरोबर ओळख होते आणि चांगली मैत्री पण होते.

नारायण, कल्याणीला बघून तिच्या प्रेमात पडतो. नारायण हा एक वकील असतो आणि गांधीजींचा शिष्य. त्याला मनातून विधवा पद्धती मान्य नसते. कल्याणीच्या प्रेमात पडल्यावर हा ठरवतो कि कल्याणीशी लग्न करायचे. कल्याणी चुयीयाला सांगते कि ती नारायणबरोबर लग्न करणार आहे. ही बातमी चुयीया रागाच्या भरात मधुमतीला सांगते आणि मग विधवा आश्रमात एकच हल्लकल्लोळ माजतो. आता या सगळ्या प्रथे विरुध्ध जाऊन नारायण कल्याणीशी लग्न करू शकतो का ? छोट्याश्या चुयीयाचे पुढे काय होते हे बघा "वॉटर" या सिनेमामध्ये.

जेव्हा चुयीया विधवा होते आणि तिचे वडील सांगतात कि तुझा नवरा मेला आणि तू विधवा झालीस तेव्हा चुयिया विचारते "कब तक बाबा" हा निरागस प्रश्नाने हृदयात कालवाकालव निश्चित होते. तसेच विधवा आश्रमात आल्यावर मधुमतीला दिलेले उत्तरे देखील खूप विचार करायला लावतात. तसेच एकदा गंगेच्या काठावर, चुयीया विचारते की बायकांचे जसे विधवा आश्रम असतात तसे पुरुषांचे कुठे असतात. अश्या काही काही संवादातून त्या काळाच्या बाल विधवांना पडणारे प्रश्न खूप छान समोर आणले आहेत.

सिनेमा खूपच छान आहे. या सिनेमाच्या विरुद्ध खूप निदर्शने झाली होती त्यामुळे दीपा मेहताला हा सिनेमा भारतात काढता आला नाही, शेवटी तिने परदेशी लोकांबरोबर हा सिनेमा काढला. हि खरंतर शरमेची बाब आहे. या सिनेमाचे सगळे चित्रण श्रीलंकेमध्ये झाले आहे. सिनेमात कुठेच काहीही वावगे दाखवले नाहीये. पूर्वी विधवा आश्रम होते तिथे असे काही प्रकार घडत असणार. त्यात तिने समाज कसा बदलतो आहे हे दाखवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला आहे. विधवा आश्रमात राहून देखील शाकुंतलाच्या विचारांची प्रगल्भता तिने दाखवण्याचा प्रयत्न केला आहे.


सिनेमा सगळ्यांनी बघावा असा आहेच अगदी, १० वर्षापुढील मुलांना दाखवायला हरकत नाही. तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यास किंवा तुमच्या माझ्या लिखाणावर काही प्रतिक्रिया असतील तर त्या जरूर लिहा.
 
This is a story set up in late 1938 when Child Marriages and Sati were common customs in India. This is s story of Chuiya, a nine years old girl, married to a thirty year old man. She hardly knows what a marriage means and her husband dies of some illness. Now there are only two options for Chuiya, either die as Sati or live as a widow the whole life. According to prevalent  custom of the times, she will not stay in her or her husbands home, but in a community widow home. Chuiya's poor parents leave her at one such home in Calcutta. At this young age, Chuyiya does not understand the situations, and keeps thinking that her parents would come some day and take her home.

This home is controlled by Madhumati, an old and cruel widow. Though she is in control of the home, Shakuntala is actually doing all the work there. Shankutala is a very good by nature, and literate lady, but since she became widow, she had to stay in this home. There are several characters in this home with specialties. There is one old lady called Bua, who always remembers the sweets she had as part of her marriage party. Kalyani another beautiful and young widow, who is the only one with long hair is getting good treatment. The reason being Kalyani is the only earning member of that widow house. Madhumati with the help of a eunuch called Gulabi, are sending Kalyani to landlords in return of money. All the widows are basically living the tough life that is sentenced to them by the society of the times.

Now with entry of a young member Chuiya, the widow house is disturbed a bit. The atmosphere changes due to young and energetic member. Very soon Chuiya gets friendly with Shankutala, Kalyani and Bua. Shakuntala and Kalyani too start loving her a lot. Shakuntala is like her mother and Kalyani like her elder sister. Kalyani has a small puppy called Kalu, which is additional attraction for Chuiya to play with, in otherwise elderly and serious type widows in the home.

Once Chuiya and Kalyani get a dip in the river Ganga. While playing with Kalu, he starts running erratic, and Chuiya starts following him. Even after a long chase Chuiya was not able to catch him. Finally a young man called Narayan catches Kalu and hands back to Chuiya. Chuiya gets introduced to Narayan and quickly becomes friends with him. She also introduces him to Kalyani and he immediately fells for her.

Narayan is a well educated Lawyer and he is also follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He hates the custom of socially boycotting the widows and feels that they should be rehabilitated after the unfortunate incidences. He decided to marry Kalyani and finally Kalyani too starts to like him and agrees to it. She shares this secret to Chuiya too. Once while having a heated agreement with Madhumati, she tells her this news her and the whole widow home explodes with mixed reactions.

Some of the scenes in the movie are very powerful and touching. One of the scenes, when Chuiya's husband dies, her father conveys her that now her husband is dead and she will be widow. She quickly and innocently asked him "Till when she is going to be Widow?" Some of the conversions on Chuiya entry in the widow house are also thought proving. Once Chuiya asks where are the widow homes for the men ? Some really good contemporary questions are raised in the movie.

This movie making faced severe demonstrations and had to be closed several times in India. Finally Deepa Mehta had to shoot this movie abroad, which I felt was shame. I liked the movie with positive note and change shown in it. I did not feel the movie showed something baseless. There could have been similar incidences in the society of the times. Shankutala's maturity of thinking was very nicely depicted in this movie.

This is a really nice movie and specially for the people who enjoy thought provoking movies. This can be shown to the kids above ten year of age. If you have seen the movie, do write your views on this and if you have not seen it, your comments on the review.

"चिखलू", हा आई वडिलांचे छत्र हरवलेला एक हुशार, बिनधास्त आणि व्रात्य मुलगा असतो. तो दिवसभर गावात सगळ्या लोकांच्या खोड्या काढत फिरत असतो. त्याच्याबरोबर गावातील सगळी मुलं पण दंग मस्ती करतो असतो. चिखलू त्याच्या आजी जवळ राहत असतो. आजीजवळ सगळे लोक तक्रारी करत असतात. त्यामुळे आजीला अगदी जीव नकोसा होतो. पण हिचा चिखलूवर खूप जीव असतो. गावात काहीही घडले कि लोक चिखलू वर आरोप करत असतात.गावातील लोक आपल्या मुलांना चिखलू पासून दूर राहा असे सांगतात. पण बऱ्याच मुलांचे चिखलूवर प्रेम असते. चिखलू शाळेत न जाता, मस्ती करत बसतो. जेव्हा तो शाळेत जातो, तेव्हा मास्तराच्या खोड्या काढतो. एकूण सगळ्या लोकांना चिखलू त्रास देतो.

गावाच्या शेजारी एक मोठे घनदाट जंगल असते. तिथे एक भूत राहते आणि ते भूत या गावातील लोकांना त्रास देत असा इथल्या लोकांचा विश्वास असतो. जंगलातील भुताला गावातील लोक, बळी वगेरे देतात, जेणेकरून भूत खुश राहील व लोकांना त्रास देणार नाही. गावातील सगळ्या लोकांचे आयुष्य या भूत्याभोवती फिरत असते. गावात कोणाची तब्येत बिघडली, किंवा कोणी मेले, तरीही भूत्यामुळे होते आहे असे सगळे म्हणतात. एकूण गावातील सगळ्या लोकांचे आयुष्य भूत्याभोवती फिरत असते.

एक दिवस शाळेत मास्तर रागारागात चिखलूला म्हणतात कि गावात सगळे लोक भूत्याला घाबरतात पण तूच एक असा आहेस जो भूत्याला घाबरणार नाहीस. तू का जात नाही जंगलात, त्याने गावातील लोक तुझ्या खोड्यांपासून तरी वाचतील. हे ऐकून चिखलू सगळ्या मित्रांना घेऊन जंगलात जायला निघतो, पण सगळी घाबरून परत फिरतात. हा एकटाच जंगलात जातो. तिथे गेल्यावर त्याला चित्र विचित्र आवाज येतात. तरी तो पुढे पुढे जात राहतो. तिथे एका पडक्या इमारती मध्ये जातो,तिथून खूप पक्षी येतात, त्या पक्ष्यांना घाबरून चिखलू पळत सुटतो आणि एका झाडाच्या फांदीला अडखळतो त्याच्या डोक्याला मार लागतो तो जेव्हा त्याला जाग येते, तेव्हा तो जंगलाबाहेर पडलेला असतो, व त्याच्या जखमेवर औषध लावलेले असते.

चिखलूवर खूप प्रेम करते गावातील एक मुलगी म्हणजे साळूताई. हिला लग्न करायचे नसते, पण हिचे आई वडील हिचे कोणाशी तर लग्न करून द्यायचे असा घाट घालत असतात. हिला मनाजोगता जोडीदार मिळाल्याशिवाय लग्न करणार नाही असे हिने ठरवलेले असते. चिखलू आणि साळू या दोघांची खूप मैत्री असते. चिखलूला समजून घेणारी त्याच्या आजी व्यतिरिक्त साळू हि एक मैत्रीण, ताई असते. साळू चीखालुला बरेचदा विचारते तो जंगलात का गेला, पण चिखलू काहीच सांगत नाही.

या प्रसंगानंतर चिखलूला वाटते कि भुत्या हा चांगला आहे. त्यामुळे चिखलू पुन्हा जंगलात जातो भूत्याचा शोध घ्यायला आणि एका अनपेक्षित क्षणी त्याची भूत्याशी भेट होते. शेवटी भुत्या हा नक्की कोण असतो, तो असा का वागतो हे बघायला मिळते पुढील सिनेमात. भुत्या आणि चिखलूची मैत्री, लोक कसे उगाचच कशाहीवर विश्वास ठेवतात हे बघा "पक पक पकाक"मध्ये.

चिखलू व भुत्याचे एकमेकांशी होणारी मैत्री, त्यांचे एकमेकांवरील प्रेम, चीखालुला भुत्या कसा नकळतपणे शिक्षण देतो, ते सगळे प्रसंग एकदम मस्त आहेत. नाना पाटेकर "भुत्या"च्या भूमिकेत खूपच मस्त. सक्षम कुलकर्णीचा चिखलू छान. फक्त त्याने जरा वजन कमी केले असते तर चांगले झाले असते, कारण गावात इतकी लठ्ठ मुले नसतात. सिनेमातील गाणी पण चांगली आहेत. सक्षम कुलकर्णीला या सिनेमासाठी AsianFestival of First Films (AFFF) चे बेस्ट अक्टर अवार्ड मिळाले आहे. लहान मुलांना घेऊन बघण्यासारखा सिनेमा आहे. सिनेमा छानच आहे. जरूर बघावा असा.

Pak Pak Pakak is a movie set in a small village. Chikahlu is a village boy, who has lost his parents at early age and is taken care by his grandmother. He is a very naughty kid, always playing mischiefs with all the villagers. He has lot of friends, but the parents of his friends are not allowing the kids to play with him, due to his reputation of naughty kid.

He has a good friend Salu. She is one of his neighbors, older than Chikhalu by few years. Her parents want her to get married, but she insists that she will marry only she finds a suitable man. Salu and Grandmother are the only two in village protecting Chikhalu, and who believe he is a good boy by heart but just a bit too naughty. Anything wrong in the village and the blame will be on Chikhalu.

Adjacent to the village s a forest. And all the villagers believe that there is a ghost in that village. People call it Bhutya. People have experienced strange things in the forest, which has led them to believe in Bhutya. Several people have tried unsuccessfully to find out about Bhutya. Finally they start worshiping Bhutya out of fear and belief that worshiping will protect them from the ghost.

One day, Chikhalu's teacher is irritated with his pranks and says why don't you visit Bhutya so that village will get rid from your pranks. This idea gets into fearless Chikhalu's head and he enters the forest with some of his friends. In few minutes, all the friends come out of the forest fearing Bhutya, and Chikhalu continues his adventure alone. But finally the silence and sound of different birds and animals induces fear in him. He starts to run back towards village but bumps on a low lying branch of a tree and gets unconscious. When he wakes up, he was just outside the forest with some herbal medicine applied to his wound.

Salu tries to get his reason for entering the forest and what happed with him, but Chikhalu wit fully avoids to answer. Salu is not convinced,but lets go for the time being. Chikhalu feels that Bhutya has helped him and decides to try to meet him again. He manages to enter the forest again and meets Bhutya. It will be spoiler to tell who Bhutya is and the story behind Bhutya's existence, how Chikhalu develops friendship with him.

Nana Patekar is really good in as Bhutya. Saksham Kulkarni has won awards for this role. He has acted really well throughout. Only things does not fit with the movie is his stout physique. Narayani Shastri is good as Salu. A must watch movie, specially if you want to watch with kids. Music is good too.

आम्ही असू लाडके (Amhi asu ladke)

शालिनी बुध्धिसागर या एका मोठ्या कॉलेज मधील प्रिंसिपल असतात. त्यांचा मुलगा अभिजित हा अगदीच सामान्य बुध्धिचा असतो. म्हणजे त्याला खुप जास्त मार्क वगेरे मिळत नसतात. तर शालिनी बुध्धिसागर यांच्या मते जी मूल हुशार असतात त्यांच्यावरच मेहनत घ्यायला हवी.



आपण बुद्धीत कमी असल्याचे, सारखे डोक्यावर ओझे असल्याने एक दिवस अभिजित आत्महत्येचा प्रयत्न करतो. हे बघून शालिनी बुध्धीसागर खूप वैतागते. तिचा भाऊ रघुनंदन याला फोन करून बोलावून घेते व अभिजीतला थोडे दिवस मामाकडे पाठवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला जातो. अभिजित आत्महत्येच्या धक्क्यातून बाहेर येण्याचा प्रयत्न करत असतो, तेव्हा अर्चना नावाची एक मुलगी रघुनंदनमामाला भेटायला येते. ती दोघांना शाळेत चित्रकला स्पर्धेचे आमंत्रण देते. अभिजितला खरतर तिथे जायचे नसते, पण दोघांच्या आग्रहाखातर तो तिथे जातो. तिथली शाळा बघून त्याच्या आश्चर्याला पारावर उरत नाही. मतीमंद मुले आनंदाने व निरागसपणे चित्र काढत असतात.



त्यांचे एकदम वेगळे जीवन बघून अभिजित विचार करू लागतो.बऱ्याच दिवसाने हातात ब्रश आणि स्केत्चींग पेपर घेऊन एक सुंदर चित्र काढतो. हे चित्र बघून अर्चना त्याला शाळेत चित्रकला शिकवण्याची विनंती करते. अभिजित देखील त्या शाळेत जाऊन शिकवण्याचा प्रयत्न करतो. सुरवातीला त्याला जमत नाही, पण हळू हळू त्याला तिथे खूप आवडू लागते. येथील जीवन बघून त्याला आयुष्यात दुख म्हणजे काय याची चांगलीच जाणीव होते. अभिजित इथे रमतो, त्याला मतीमंद मुलांसाठीच काम करावे असे वाटू लागते, पण शालिनी बुध्धीसागरच्या मनात अभिजितसाठी दुसरेच प्लान असतात. तिला अभिजीतला हॉलंडला शिक्षणासाठी पाठवायचे असते.


शेवटी अभिजित काय करतो, मतीमंद मुलांचे काय प्रश्न असतात, समाज मतीमंद मुलांकडे कसे बघतो, त्याचप्रमाणे, त्यांचे आई वडिलांचा मुलांकडे बघण्याचा दृष्टीकोन कसा असतो हे बघा "आम्ही असू लाडके" मध्ये.

सिनेमा अत्यंत सुंदर आहे. सुबोध भावे मस्तच. मतीमंद मुलांचे प्रश्न खूप वास्तविकपणे आपल्यासमोर मांडले आहेत. प्रत्येक नात्याचे कसे विविध कंगोरे असतात याचा प्रत्यय देण्याचा खूपच चांगला प्रयत्न केला आहे. गिरीश ओकने एका मतीमंद मुलाच्या बापाचे काम केले आहे, त्याचे विक्रम गोखले, अप्रत्क्षपण॓ जे डोळे उघडतो ते बघण्यासारखे आहे. सगळेच सानावाद अगदी मनाला भिडतात. अभिजीतचे व एका आजीचे संवाद खूपच सुंदर. मतीमंद मुलांचा अभिनय पण खूप सुरेख. या मुलांना कसे काय हे काम करायला जमले, हा प्रश्न मनात आल्याशिवाय राहत नाही. सिनेमा बघताना, डोळे पाणावल्याशिवाय राहत नाहीत. या सिनेमाने तरी समाजाचा मतीमंद मुलांकडे बघण्याचा दृष्टिकोन बदलेल असा विश्वास वाटतो. सिनेमा जरूर बघा. तुमच्या प्रतिक्रिया अवश्यलिहा.




Shalini Budhhisagar is Principal of an Engineering College. Her son Abhijit is not doing well in education. Shalini is an ambitious lady and working hard for success. But she feels that world if for bright students, and bellow average students are not worth the attention.




Abhijit is frustrated with the competition and attempts suicide, but is saved. Raghunandan, Shalini's brother offers to take Abhijit to Kolhapur to take care of him till he recovers form the setback. For few months Abhijit is inactive. Once while visiting a school for mentally retarded children, his interest in art is awakened. He starts drawing sketches again.



When Abhijit and Raghunandan visit school to present one of his sketch to the school, they come to know that the Art teacher is getting married and quitting the school. Abhijit was requested to visit the school for few days and teach art to children. Initially reluctant, he agrees.



His initial days were difficult to deal with the mentally retarded children. But slowly he started enjoying it and get involved with the school. While Shalini, his mother keep insisting that he should go for further education, he keep avoiding and ignoring it. All his mind is in the progress of the school and the problems the school is facing. What happens to Shalini's plans for Abhijit needs to be watched in the movie.

Some of the dialogues are really nice like Raghunandan tells Abhjit, "The sorrows you feel are sorrows, and small problems in your day to day life, you have yet to see the real sorrows." Overall a really nice movie and I would like to say all parents should watch it.
