सिनेमाची गोष्ट आहे तीन मित्रांची. तिघे मित्र एकाच मोठ्या घरात राहत असतात. घरचे नाव असते, "अनब्रेकेबल". यातील एकाचे टोपण नाव असते "चाकू". हा एका गॅरेज मध्ये नोकरी करत असतो. दुसरा असतो पुस्तक, हा एका कॉलेज मध्ये प्रोफेसर असतो. तिसरा असतो माकड, हा एका न्यूज चॅनेल मध्ये नोकरीला असतो. हे तिघे एकमेकांना टोपण नावानेच हाका मारत असतात. प्रत्येकाची अशी विचित्र टोपण नावे देखील त्यांच्या स्वभाव वैशिष्ट्यामुळे ठेवलेली असतात. चाकू हा कधी न सुधारणारा, बिनधास्त स्वभावाचा असतो. त्याचे असे नाव पडण्याचे कारण म्हणजे सगळ्या शस्त्रांची उत्क्रांती झाली. पण चाकू हा कायम चाकूच राहिला. चाकू हे पात्र देखील तसेच आहे. प्रोफेसर हा खूप पुस्तके वाचत असतो आणि कुठलीही गोष्ट कधीही चूक सांगत नाही, पुस्तकी ज्ञान नेहमी पाजळतो. तर माकड, हा न्यूज चॅनेल मध्ये असतो, तिथे कायम बातम्या मिळत नाही, तेव्हा बातम्या तयार करणे हा त्याचा मुळ स्वभाव असतो त्यामुळे त्याचे नाव माकड असे पडते. आता या चाकुला गाडी दुरुस्त करायला आलेली एक खूप आकर्षक तरुणी आवडू लागते व तो तिला घरी बोलावतो. ती या तिघांची नावे ऐकून सांगते की माझे नाव पेन्सिल. पेन्सिल म्हणजे जिने लिहिलेले कधीही पुसता येते, कायम असे काहीच नाही. कारण भूतकाळात केलेली कुठलीच विधाने ती लक्षात ठेवत नाही व त्याची जबाबदारी घेत नाही.
पेन्सिल घरात आल्यावर या तिघांच्याही मनात तिच्या विषयी ओढ निर्माण होते. खरेतर चाकूने पहिला नंबर लावलेला असतो. कारण तिला तो घरी यायला निमंत्रण देतो त्यावेळेस त्याने या दोघांना सांगितले असते की मला पेन्सिलीशी लग्न करायचे आहे. पण पेन्सिल घरी आल्यावर पुस्तक त्याच्या बुद्दीमात्तेच्या जोरावर चाकुशी वाद घालतो आणि म्हणतो कि जर का तू तिला अजून पर्यंत लग्नाबद्दल सांगितले नसशील तर मी देखील लग्नाच्या स्पर्धेमध्ये उभा आहे. चाकू सुरवातीला खूप चिडतो. पण नंतर सावरतो. एक दिवस सकाळी सकाळी अचानक पेन्सिल घरी येते. चाकू आणि पुस्तकाची स्पर्धा लागते, प्रथम चाकू म्हणतो कि मला तुझ्याशी लग्न करायचे आहे, तसेच लगेच पुस्तक देखील ते म्हणतो. पेन्सिल आश्चर्याने माकडाकडे बघते, माकड म्हणतो मला यात इन्टरेस्ट नाही.
मग माकड आणि पेन्सिल एक डाव रचतात. ते ठरवतात कि पेन्सिल, चाकू व पुस्तकाची परीक्षा घेईल. त्यासाठी पहिल्या दिवशी चाकुबरोबर, दुसऱ्या दिवशी पुस्तकाबरोबर व तिसऱ्या दिवशी चाकू व पुस्तक बरोबर दिवस घालवेल. आणि अशी दोन आवर्तने होतील. अर्थात परीक्षक म्हणून माकड बरोबर असेलच. या स्पर्धेमध्ये काही नियम असतील आणि त्या नियमांचे काटेकोर पालन होईल. स्पर्धेमध्ये पेन्सिल दोघांना काही प्रश्न विचारेल, त्या प्रश्नांना दिलेल्या उत्तरावरून पेन्सिल कोणाशी लग्न करायचे ते ठरवेल. आता या स्पर्धेत काय होते व पेन्सिल कोणाशी लग्न करते, त्यानंतर पेन्सिलीच्या आयुष्यात काय बदल होतात, त्या बदलांमुळे दुसऱ्या उमेदवारांच्या मनात काय येते व तो काय प्लॅन करतो. माकड त्याच्या स्वभावानुसार कश्या बातम्या बनवतो. ह्या सगळ्या प्रश्नांची उत्तरे तुम्हाला "बदाम राणी गुलाम चोर" या सिनेमात मिळतील.
या तीन मित्रांच्या स्टोरीबरोबरच राजकारणातील एक गोष्ट यात गुंफण्याचा यात प्रयत्न केला आहे. दोन प्रतिस्पर्धी, मुख्यमंत्र्याच्या उमेदवारीसाठी प्रयत्न करत असतात, त्यात जुन्या उमेदवाराचा पराभव होतो व नवीन उमेदवार निवडून येतो. व मग मिडिया कशी या दोघांना प्रतिक्रिया देण्यासा भाग पाडते. जनता या सगळ्या गोंधळात कशी पिचून गेलेली असते, हे यात गुंफण्याचा प्रयत्न केलेला आहे. सिनेमातील पात्रांची खरी नावे कळत नाहीत. सिनेमा मध्यंतरापर्यंत चांगला वाटतो. त्यातील काही विनोद चांगले वाटले. पण नंतर नंतर कंटाळा येतो. या सिनेमा सतीश राजवाडे यांनी दिग्दर्शित केलेला आहे. यांनी २-३ खूप छान सिरीयल काढल्या होत्या त्यामुळे या सिनेमाकडून खूप अपेक्षा होती. पण ती अपेक्षा पूर्ण होत नाही. सगळे कलाकार त्यांच्या त्यांच्या भूमिकेत उत्तम आहेत. पण त्यांचा एकत्रित प्रभाव पडलेला नाही. एकूण सुरवातीला खूप उत्साहने सिनेमा बघायला सुरवात केली आणि शेवट पर्यंत उत्साह मावळून गेलेला होता. सिनेमा बघण्यास हरकत नाही पण खूप अपेक्षा ठेवू नये.
This is a story of three friends living together in a big house they names "Unbreakable". All three friends have nicknames. All the names are for a reason and describe their nature and behavior. First one is Chaku or Knife. He is car mechanic and own a garage. Second one is Pustak or Book. He is a studious person and works as a professor in a college. Third one is Makad or Monkey, who works for a news agency. All three call each other with the nicknames only.
Knife is called so because he is person who will not change and is not scared of anything. All the weapons have changed and improved, but knives have remained like they were for several centuries. Book is very studious and is always busy reading something. He is never wrong and has answer with reference for all the discussions. Monkey is working for news agency and when there are no news to cover he is good in making up the news.
Once Knife falls for a girl, who come to his garage for repairing her car. She is really cute and Knife likes her very much. He manages to invite her to his home. When she visits their home and was introduced to all three of them. She tells them that her name is Pencil, the reason being whatever she writes can be erased quickly and she does not care a dime about what she said the earlier day, and never take a responsibility of what she said earlier.
After meeting Pencil, all three are in the competition. Logically Knife is the guy, because he has met her first and invited her to their home. He has also made it clear before inviting her, to other two friends that he plans to propose her for marriage soon. But once Book meets Pencil, he starts using his intellect to convince Knife that since he has not proposed her already, Book also can jump into the competition. Knife is really upset with this situation, but then decides to take it cool. One day Pencil arrives to their home without notice. Knife immediately tells her that he want's to marry her. Book without wasting any time declares the same intention. Pencil loks at Monkey with surprise. Monkey just replies "I am not interested".
Then Monkey and Pencil get together and make a plan. They decide to test Knife and Book to decide who is suitable to marry Pencil. On day one Pencil will spend time with Knife on second day she will spend time with Book on day three she spend time with both Knife and Book. This will be repeated one more time. Monkey will be there all along to watch over. There will be some ground rules set and need to be followed very carefully. Pencil will ask few questions to both of them and take a decision based on all this.How does this whole plan work out, who does she decids to marry at the end, what does the other person do about it, how Monkey makes news stories out of it needs to be undestood and enjoyed by watching movie "Badam Rani Gulam Chor".
In this movie, with the story of these three friends there is another story woven, which is of two politicians. There are two leaders of opposing parties in the election, The ruling one gets defeated and a new chief minister takes charge. Monkey as a media man and his competitors are using different tricks to make news stories out of this. Interesting part of the story is we do not know the real names of all the four lead characters in the movie. The movie takes off really well and is very interesting and some good comedy, but after the intermission it kind of drags a bit. Satish Rajwade the director of the movie is well know and has delivered some really good TV serials. All the main characters are well known faces and good acting reputations. So finally the recommendation is good to watch with a caution of not so interesting till the end, so be prepared for a little disappointment.
