गंध (Gandh)

एकमेकांशी संबध नसलेल्या तीन गोष्टींचा सांगाडा म्हणजे "गंध". फक्त एकच गोष्ट या तिन्ही गोष्टींना  बांधून ठेवते तो म्हणजे "गंध". ज्या सिनेमात नक्की काय सांगायचय याचा गंध शेवटपर्यंत आणि त्यानंतर देखील लागत नाही तो सिनेमा म्हणजे गंध. आता सिनेमा कसा आहे हे या तीन ओळीवरून लक्षात आलेच असेल. पण आता गंध मध्ये नक्की काय होते हे थोडक्यात बघा.


गंध म्हणजे वास. चांगला किंवा वाईट वास म्हणजे पुस्तकी भाषेत गंध. तर या सिनेमात एकूण तीन गोष्टी आहेत.

पहिली गोष्ट, वीणाची. वीणा एक २४ वर्षाची लग्नाळू मुलगी. हिला बघायला खूप म्हणजे खूप मुलं येतात. पण सगळी मुलं हिला नकार देतात. अतिशय धार्मिक असलेले हिचे आईवडील खूप काळजीत पडतात. वीणाला सारखी सारखी मुलं बघून आता कंटाळा आलेला असतो. ही स्वप्न रंगवत असते कि हिला पण कोणीतरी भेटेल, ज्याच्या प्रेमात हि पडेल आणि तो देखील तिच्या प्रेमात. तर अशी ही वीणा नोकरी देखील करत असते एका कॉलेज मध्ये. एक विद्यार्थी, मंगेश नाडकर्णी, हा दुरून येताना देखील एक "गंध" आणतो. तर या गंधामुळे हि याच्या प्रेमात पडते. तो एक चांगला चित्रकार असतो. पण त्याला सांगण्याची हिची हिम्मत होते नाही. शेवटी त्या दोघांचे पुढे काय होते हे या गोष्टीत बघा. लग्नाची मुलगी या गोष्टीमध्ये.

दुसरी गोष्ट आहे "औषध घेणारा माणूस". या गोष्टीमध्ये सारंग नावाचा एक फोटोग्राफर असतो. त्याचे त्याच्या बायकोवर निरतिशय प्रेम असते. हिचे नाव रावी. पण रावी त्याला दीड वर्षापासून सोडून गेलेली असते. कारण सारंग हा HIV+ असतो. बायको सोडून गेल्यानंतर, घरात फक्त मोलकरीण येते. ती सैपाक, कपडे, झाडू, सगळे म्हणून सगळे करते. हिला माहितीच नसते, कि सारंगचे लग्न झाले आहे. एक दिवस सारंग सांगतो कि आज तू पालक पनीर, पुलाव आणि गाजर हलवा कर. आणि २ माणसांचा कर. कारण आज माझी बायको मला भेटायला येणार आहे. ठरल्याप्रमाणे रावी घरी येते. रावीला घरात आल्यापासून सारखा एक घाण "गंध" येत असतो. पण कसला वास हे कळत नाही. ती सारंगला विचारते कि तुला येतोय का वास?  पण सारंगला येत नाही. रावी आणि सारंगला त्यांनी घालावेलेले बरेचसे क्षण या भेटीत आठवतात. पुढे काय करायचे याचे प्लान पण करतात, सगळ्याच गोष्टी या गंधामुळे फिसकटतात. आणि हा सारखा येणारा गंध, रावीच्या डोक्यातून (नाकातून) जात नाही. शेवटी रावीला सापडतो का तो दुर्गंध, हे बघा गंध मधील दुसऱ्या गोष्टीत.


तिसरी गोष्ट आहे बाळाच्या गंधाला आसुसलेल्या एका स्त्रीची. कोकणातील गोष्ट. जानकीच्या नणंदेचे (ललिताचे) दिवस भरले आहेत. हे ललिताचे दुसरे बाळंतपण असते. पहिला मुलगा राघू ७-८ वर्षाचा असतो. ललिताच्या कळा सुरु होतात, त्यामुळे सुईण लक्ष्मीला बोलावणे धाडतात. लक्ष्मी येते खूप धो धो पाउस पडत असताना. त्यात जानकीला वेगळे बसायला लागते. बाळंतपणाची धांदल उडालेली त्यात हिचा विटाळ, त्यामुळे जानकीची सासू वैतागते. ललितावर जानकीचे खूप प्रेम असते, तसेच राघूला पण मामी बद्दल प्रेम असते. जानकीला मदत करता येत नाही, त्यामुळे नक्की काय होतंय, याची काळजी आणि नुसत्या एका कोपर्यातून चौकश्या करीत बसते. त्यात सासूचे टोमणे ऐकते, कारण हिला अजूनही मुल झालेले नसते. त्यामुळे बाळाच्या गंधाला आसुसलेल्या जानकीची हि गोष्ट "बाजूला बसलेली बाई" या गोष्टीत बघायला मिळते.

सिनेमातील तीनही गोष्टी स्वतंत्रपणे बघितल्या तर चांगल्या आहेत. पण सिनेमात एकत्र गुंफल्या गेल्या नाहीत. पूर्वी दूरदर्शन वर असलेल्या मराठी सीरिअल मधील काही गोष्टी एकत्रित करून सिनेमा केला आहे कि काय असा वाटते. बर तिन्ही गोष्टी एकाच कालखंडातील आहेत असे म्हणवत नाही. पहिल्या गोष्टीत पुण्यातील एक कॉलेज दाखवतात, पण तिथे टाईपरायटर वर टाईप करणारी, वीणा, तर एकदम HIV+ असलेला माणूस, आणि मग एकदम कोकणातील सुईणीच्या जमान्यातील गोष्ट.

हे कालखंड नीट जमले आहेत असा वाटले नाही. म्हणजे काहीतरी एकमेकांशी संबध ठेवायला हवा होता असे वाटले. तिसऱ्या गोष्टीत तर बाजूला बसलेली बाई याचा अर्थ कळायलाच फार वेळ लागला. कारण एकदम HIV च्या जगातून विटाळशी झाल्यामुळे वेगळे बसण्याच्या संकल्पनेत जाणे जरा कठीण वाटले. कितीतरी वेळ बाजूला बसलेली बाई म्हणजे, वाटत होते, कि बस मधून प्रवास करताना, बाजूला बसलेल्या बाईची गोष्ट सांगणार आहेत कि काय. प्रत्येक गोष्टी मध्ये चांगले कलाकार घेतले आहेत, त्यामुळे त्यांच्या अभिनय चांगलेच आहेत. पण पहिल्या गोष्टीत जरा, ओवर अक्टिंग केल्या सारखी वाटते.

सिनेमा कंटाळवाणा आहे असे म्हणता येणार नाही, पण कशाकशाचा गंध लागत नाही हे मात्र खरे. गंध मला लागला नाही, तुम्हाला याचा काही गंध लागला असेल तर कृपया तुम्हाला समजलेले गंध इथे अभिप्राय म्हणून लिहा.

Three disjoint stories with a vague common link between them is attempted in the movie "Gandh" meaning smell / odour. Smell is the only loose string between the stories, but fails to convey that well till the end of the movie. The opening lines in the review would give you a flavor of what to expect in this movie. So here is a brief...

Smell could be any type, pleasant or intolerable. So there stories involving the scent in some way.

The first one is of a young girl called Veena. She is a typical middle class girl form core Pune city of 24 years age. Her parents are trying for her marriage, she has seen several boys, but none of them selects her as their mate. Both her parents are worried over her marriage. Veena is fed up of the ritual of seeing boys every now and then. She is always dreaming of a person, who will meet her by chance and both will fell for each other. Veena is working as a Clark and typist in an Arts college. There is an student called Mangesh Nadkarni, who brings very nice fragrance even from a distance. Because of this, Veena falls for him. He is a very good artist and is studying on some scholarship. Watch the first section of the movie Gandha to see if Veena conveys her feelings and Mangesh reciprocates it or not in the section "Lagnachi Mulagi" or Bride to be.

The second section is called "Aushadh Ghenara Manus" or Man on Medicine. This is a story of a photographer called Sarang. His wife is Raavi. He loves his wife very much. But Raavi has left him about a year and half, the reason appears to be HIV+ Sarang is HIV+. Since then, there is a maid working in his house, who takes care of the household chores like cleaning, cooking and even preparing his dosages of medicines. She is not even aware that Sarang is married. She is surprised to hear Sarang requesting her to make a very good menu of Palak Paneer, Pulav and Gajar Havla for two. He tells her that his wife is coming over to visit him. Raavi comes over as decided, but she is bothered by some foul smell since she enters the house. She enquirers about it, but Sarang is not getting it and is unaware about it. They spend some nice moments lost in the sweet memories of their past, but Raavi is disturbed of the foul smell every once in a while. Watch the second part to see of Raavi find about the foul smell or not.

Third story is about a loving lady craving for sweet scent of a new born baby. This is story form Konkan, a lady called Janaki. Her sister-in-law Lalita is expecting a baby any day. She already has 7-8 years old son called Raghu. Right at the time of delivery, it is raining very heavily. Lakshi the midwife comes in time to help them. But Janaki is unable to help them at all due to the custom of sitting aside due to monthly problem. Janaki's Mother-in-law is upset due to this. Janaki is not able to help for next 5 days even though she really wants to. Lalita and Raghu both love Janaki very much, but she is bound to the customs and not able to touch any work but to inquire about Lalita from a corner of the house. This is the last story called "Bajula basaleli Bai" or the woman sitting aside.

The three stories are good on their own like a TV serial episodes, but they do not come together well as a single movie. The time periods seen to be different in the sense the typewriters in one story, the HIV+ case in the next and again the Midwife and no telephones in the last one. There are renowned artists in all three sections and they have rightly justified the roles they have played, which make the movie good, only missing thing is inability to relate all three in a string to make a single movie.

In general the impression of the movie is not totally bad. So I would like to request the readers that of you have made sense to the linkage among the story, please let us know through your comments.

बोक्या सातबंडे (Bokya Satbande)

बोक्या उर्फ चिन्मयानंद सातबंडे हा एक खूप हुशार, पण उद्योगी मुलगा असतो. त्याचे वडील प्रदीप, आई वैशाली, आजी इंदिरा आणि मोठा भाऊ विजू उर्फ विजयेंद्र हे एका मोठ्या हौसिंग सोसायटीत राहत असतात. वडील एका कंपनीत मॅनेजर असतात, आई एका सामाजिक संस्थेत व्यवस्थापिका म्हणून पार्ट टाईम नोकरी करत असते, भाऊ कॉलेजमध्ये शेवटच्या वर्ष्याला असतो. बोक्या हा सगळीकडे बोक्या म्हणून प्रसिध्ध असतो, पण त्याची आजी मात्र त्याला चिन्मयानंद म्हणून हाक मारत असते. बोक्या हा सगळ्या मुलांचा म्होरक्या असतो. पण हा मनाने अतिशय चांगला असतो. त्याला कोणाचेही दुख बघवत नाही, त्यांचे दुख सोडवण्यासाठी त्याला कायम काहीतरी करायचे असते. आणि त्याचे सारखे काही ना काही उद्योग सुरु असतात. कधी कोणाला मदत कर, कधी एखाद्या प्राण्याचे प्राण वाचव, असे उद्योग तर सतत सुरु असतात.

तर असेच एकदा सगळी मुलं क्रिकेट खेळत असताना त्यांचा बॉल पहिल्या मजल्यावर राहणाऱ्या भेलवंडी आजी आजोबांकडे जातो. हे भेलवंडी आजी-आजोबा सोसायटीत खूप कुप्रसिध्ध असतात, सगळ्यांचा मते हे आजी आजोबा खूप खडूस. रागीट आणि कोणातच न मिसळणारे आहेत, त्यांच्या वाटेला कोणीच जात नाही. आता बॉल त्यांच्या घरी गेल्याने सगळ्या मित्रांमध्ये चर्चा होते कि त्यांच्या घरी कोण जाणार/ शेवटी सर्वानुमते असे ठरते कि बॉल आणायला बोक्या जाणार. बोक्या त्यांच्या घरी जातो आणि त्याच्या लाघवी स्वभावाने तो त्या आजी-आजोबांचे मन जिंकून घेतो. त्यांना भेटल्यावर बोक्याच्या डोक्यात सारखे भेलवंडी आजी- आजोबांचे विचार मनात येतात. त्यांचा मुलगा वसंता अमेरिकेत असतो. त्या मुलाने अमेरिकन बाईशी लग्न केलेले असते. त्याला एक मुलगा असतो देवेन नावाचा. देवेनला मरण्यापूर्वी एकदा तरी भेटता यावे असे या दोन आजी-आजोबांना वाटत असते. आता या आजी-आजोबांचे हे स्वप्नं बोक्या कसे पूर्ण करतो बघा "बोक्या सातबंडे" मध्ये.

या सिनेमामध्ये बोक्याची अजून १ गोष्ट आहे ज्यामुळे बोक्याला एक मोठे पारितोषिक मिळते व त्या पारितोषिका मुळे, त्याला जीन्हेवाला जायला मिळते. तर अश्या बोक्याच्या गोष्टी या सिनेमात आहेत. लहान मुलांना हा सिनेमा नक्कीच आवडेल. मोठ्यांना पण बघण्यासारखा सिनेमा नक्कीच आहे. सिनेमातील संवाद चांगले आहेत. एकूण सिनेमा बघावा असा आहे. बोक्याची दुसरी गोष्ट जरी जरा अशक्य आहे असे वाटत असली तरी,त्या गोष्टीमागील उद्देश खूपच चांगला असल्याने या अशक्य गोष्टीकडे कानाडोळा करू शकतो.

सिनेमातील सगळेच कलाकार छान आहेत. सगळ्यात जास्त आवडलेले म्हणजे भेलवंडी आजी-आजोबा. ते दोघेही म्हातारे खूप छान आहेत. आजोबा तर दिलीप प्रभावळकर आहेत, त्यामुळे त्यांच्या कामाबद्दल तर प्रश्नच नाही. पण त्या आजी देखील खूप गोड आहेत. सिनेमा सहकुटुंब बघायला हरकत नाही. तुम्ही हा सिनेमा बघितला असल्यास, अथवा, माझ्या लिखाणावर तुमच्या काही प्रतिक्रिया अवश्य द्या.
 
 

 Chinmayanand aka Bokya Satbande is a very bright and creative kid. His dad is Pradeep, Mother Vaishali, Grandmother Indira and big brother Vijau aka Vijayendra are staying in a big apartment complex with more than 100 apartments. His father is Manager in a company, Mother is working as administrator in an social organisation, and brother is a college student. Everyone calls him Bokya except his grandmother who makes it a point to call him Chinmayanand. Bokya is a born leader and leads group of his friends in many activities. He is very good by nature and can never see anyone in pain. He always strives to help anyone in trouble. He is always busy with helping someone or the other.

One of such weekend days, while playing cricket, the ball is hit high by a batsman and enters the balcony of an old couple's home. The couple Bhelwandi's are known to be difficult to talk to and angry. These people never socalise with anyone in the apartment complex and hardly anyone visits them ot talks to them. THe cricket team is in trouble and on discussion decides and nominates Bokya to retrieve the ball for Bhelwandi family. Bokya manages to convince Bhelwandis to hand over the ball with his personal skills without much trouble. But he can not take them off his mind. Bhelwandi couple has only one son Vasant, who has married an American and is settles in US. He has one son Deven, who is about 20 years old, but the grandparens have never seen him. Both of them are ore than eager to meet Deven someday, and hoping that the day comes in their life before they die. Now Bokya has this thing always in his mind, how to make Bilwandi couple's dream come true. He manages to that, and one should watch the movie to see how he does it.

There is one more interesting story about Bokya in the movie, which wins him big honors. Bokya is a very lovable character due to his caring nature. This is shown very well throughout the movie with small but creative incidences in the movie. Definitely worth watching for all, specially children will love it and connect to it more.

Overall movie is very good. His encouraging father, his proud but cautious mother, loving Grandmother and supporting brother all have really acted well. Deelip Prabhavalkar as Mr. Bhilwandi is very good. Please do write your comments on the movie as well as our review.

दहावी फ (Dahavi Pha)

 रावसाहेब पटवर्धन शाळेत (किंबहुना कुठल्याही शाळेत) वर्ग मुलांच्या कुवतीनुसार निर्माण केलेले असतात. त्यात मुख्यत्वेकरून "अ" तुकडी हुशार मुलांची तर बुद्दू मुलांची तुकडी "फ" असा एक अलिखित नियमच आहे. तशीच "दहावी फ" हि रावसाहेब पटवर्धन शाळेतील मुलांची तुकडी. या तुकडीतील मुले, हि गरीब आई-बापांची, ज्यांना पोटापाण्याची सोय लावण्यासाठी होण्याऱ्या कामाच्या रगाड्यात मुलांकडे लक्ष द्यायला वेळ नसतो अश्या गरीब आईबापांची असतात. दहावीच्या सहामाही परीक्षेत इतर तुकडीतील सगळी मुले चांगल्या मार्कांनी पास होतात तर दहावी फ मधील फक्त ३ मुले अतिशय कमी मार्कांनी सगळ्या विषयात पास होतात व इतर मुले नापास झालेली असतात.


आधीच निकाल खराब लागलेला, त्यात अ तुकडीतील एक मुलगा, फ तुकडीतील मुलाला चिडवतो. त्यात सगळी तुकडीच एकमेकांशी भांडायला लागते. आता या भांडणात नक्की कोणाची चूक हे समजून न घेता, चूक फ तुकडीतील मुलांचीच असणार असा शिक्षकांचा समज होतो आणि ते फ तुकडीतील सगळ्या मुलांना ५० रुपयांचा दंड ठोठावतात. या सगळ्या प्रकाराने फ तुकडीतील मुले खूप चिडतात व रागाच्या भरात शाळेत तोडफोड करायचा निर्णय घेतात.



एके दिवशी रात्री व्यवस्थित प्लान करून मुले शाळेतील प्रयोगशाळेवर हल्ला करतात. त्यांना रस्त्यावरील एक मुलगा मदत करतो. शाळेत तोडफोड तर करतात, पण त्या तोडफोडीत सामील असलेल्या "सिद्धार्थ जाधव" नावाच्या मुलाची ओळख दुसऱ्या दिवशी शाळेतील शिपायाला पटते. आता एक मुलगा फ तुकडीतील आहे असे कळल्यावर सगळी मुले फ तुकडीतील असणार असा सगळ्यांचा विश्वास बसतो. प्राचार्य पोलिसांकडे तक्रार करण्याचे ठरवतात.



शाळेत गणित व शास्त्र शिकवणारे शिक्षक गणेश देशमुख हे मात्र फ तुकडीतील मुलांना मिळण्याऱ्या वागणुकीवर खुश नसतात. त्यांना या मुलांबद्दल तितकेच प्रेम असते, जितके त्यांचे अ तुकडीतील मुलांवर असते. ते मुलांना प्रेमाने विचारतात कि अशी नासधूस का केलीत? पण सुरवातीला मुले नीट उत्तरे देत नाहीत. पण जेव्हा मुलांना खात्री पटते कि देशमुख सर चांगले आहेत तेव्हा हि मुले सगळे खरं खरं सांगतात. मग या तोडफोडीची प्रायश्चित्त म्हणून सगळी उपकरणे मुलांनी स्वताच्या मेहनितीने भरून द्यायची असे ठरवतात. मुले पण त्याला होकार देतात. काही गोष्टी तर दुरुस्त करून वापरणे शक्य असते पण काही गोष्टी विकत घ्यायला लागणार असतात. या सगळ्याचा खर्च २५००० येणार असतो, तो खर्च सगळी मुले काम करून, पैसे जमा करून भरून देण्याचे ठरवतात. आता या मुलांना या सगळ्यात यश येते का ? या मुलांना इतर शिक्षक आणि विद्यार्थी समजून घेतात का हे बघा "दहावी फ" मध्ये.

सिनेमा अतिशय उत्तम आहे. घरातील समस्त जनांना घेऊन बघण्यासारखा आहे. सिद्धेश जाधव ची आई देशमुख सरांबरोबर जे काही बोलते ते अगदी खरं आहे व खूप विचार करण्याजोगे आहे. देशमुख सर त्यांच्या कॉलेजजीवनातील प्रसंग सांगतात तो खूप चटका लावण्यासारखं आहे. अतुल कुलकर्णीचा गणेश देशमुख खूपच छान, त्याचबरोबर ज्योती सुभाषची भूमिका पण अतिउत्तम. सिनेमातील सगळेच लोक आपापल्या परीने चांगली भूमिका करतात.

अगदी सामान्य वाटणाऱ्या मुलांमध्ये पण खूप काही चांगले गुण असतात, त्याची चांगली जोपासना करायला पाहिजे असा संदेश हा सिनेमा देऊन जातो. सिनेमा अगदी जरूर बघावा असाच आहे. तुमच्या प्रतिक्रिया जरूर लिहा.

Raosaheb Patwardhan School has sections of students in every class according to merit. Section A are all bright & studious student and Section F is all dull. This is the usual convention in most Indian schools. Same is the case with this 10th F of Raosaheb Patwardhan High School. Most of the students in 10th F class are from poor families, where parents have to work hard, and do not have time to pay attention to the kids.

In the mid term examination almost all the students from section A through E pass, but from section F only three pass with minimum passing scores and all others fail in one or more subjects. Because of this, school principal warns section F students, that unless they show improvement immediately, they will not be allowed to appear for the board examination. And we all know how important is Board Examination in India.



All the section F students are upset due to the poor results, and to add fuel to fire a boy from section A comments and teases section F boys. This leads to a fight in the school and the section F children were held responsible. They are all made to pay Rs. 50 fine, despite of their bad economic condition. Disturbed by this injustice, they decide to break open the school and take revenge.

Soon one of the nights, they make a plan and attack the school. They destroy several things, but main destruction was the science lab. One street boy also helps them in the process. While doing this, one of the watchman get small injury. But he recognizes one of the students in the gang. He identifies Sidhharth Jadhav of section F. Now since Sidhharth is from Section F, the authorities conclude that all the children of same section were in the gang. The principal decides to involve police in the incidence.


Ganesh Deshmukh, Science and Mathematics teacher is a balanced person, and he loves the Section F as well as section A. He takes initiative and intervenes. He convinces principal that involving police will have multiple implications and might earn bad name for the whole school. He starts talking to the section F students. Initially the students are reluctant to talk to him, but slowly they realize, he is really considerate and is caring for them. Finally the students confess and ask for his guidance.



Prof. Deshmikh strikes a deal with the children. To protect them from police complaint and other embarrassments they should earn money and rebuild all the things they broke. Also they can repair the things themselves if they can, to save some money. Total expenses are estimated to be Rs. 25,000. The students take the challenge and start working on it as a team. Can the students do it ? Do they get help from others ? Do they get help from teachers.? Do they accept this help.? To get answers to all these you should watch "Dahavi Pha. 



The movie is really good and I would recommend to all. This is an entertaining movie. Some conversations are really thought provoking. Conversation between Prof. Deshmukh ans Sidhharth's mother is one such. Prof. Deshmikh's incidence from his college is really touching. Atul Kulkarni is really good like most of his recent roles. Jyoti Subhash is good too. In general all the people have acted well, though many of the students are new actors.

पक पक पकाक (pak pak pakak)

"चिखलू", हा आई वडिलांचे छत्र हरवलेला एक हुशार, बिनधास्त आणि व्रात्य मुलगा असतो. तो दिवसभर गावात सगळ्या लोकांच्या खोड्या काढत फिरत असतो. त्याच्याबरोबर गावातील सगळी मुलं पण दंग मस्ती करतो असतो. चिखलू त्याच्या आजी जवळ राहत असतो. आजीजवळ सगळे लोक तक्रारी करत असतात. त्यामुळे आजीला अगदी जीव नकोसा होतो. पण हिचा चिखलूवर खूप जीव असतो. गावात काहीही घडले कि लोक चिखलू वर आरोप करत असतात.गावातील लोक आपल्या मुलांना चिखलू पासून दूर राहा असे सांगतात. पण बऱ्याच मुलांचे चिखलूवर प्रेम असते. चिखलू शाळेत न जाता, मस्ती करत बसतो. जेव्हा तो शाळेत जातो, तेव्हा मास्तराच्या खोड्या काढतो. एकूण सगळ्या लोकांना चिखलू त्रास देतो.

गावाच्या शेजारी एक मोठे घनदाट जंगल असते. तिथे एक भूत राहते आणि ते भूत या गावातील लोकांना त्रास देत असा इथल्या लोकांचा विश्वास असतो. जंगलातील भुताला गावातील लोक, बळी वगेरे देतात, जेणेकरून भूत खुश राहील व लोकांना त्रास देणार नाही. गावातील सगळ्या लोकांचे आयुष्य या भूत्याभोवती फिरत असते. गावात कोणाची तब्येत बिघडली, किंवा कोणी मेले, तरीही भूत्यामुळे होते आहे असे सगळे म्हणतात. एकूण गावातील सगळ्या लोकांचे आयुष्य भूत्याभोवती फिरत असते.

एक दिवस शाळेत मास्तर रागारागात चिखलूला म्हणतात कि गावात सगळे लोक भूत्याला घाबरतात पण तूच एक असा आहेस जो भूत्याला घाबरणार नाहीस. तू का जात नाही जंगलात, त्याने गावातील लोक तुझ्या खोड्यांपासून तरी वाचतील. हे ऐकून चिखलू सगळ्या मित्रांना घेऊन जंगलात जायला निघतो, पण सगळी घाबरून परत फिरतात. हा एकटाच जंगलात जातो. तिथे गेल्यावर त्याला चित्र विचित्र आवाज येतात. तरी तो पुढे पुढे जात राहतो. तिथे एका पडक्या इमारती मध्ये जातो,तिथून खूप पक्षी येतात, त्या पक्ष्यांना घाबरून चिखलू पळत सुटतो आणि एका झाडाच्या फांदीला अडखळतो त्याच्या डोक्याला मार लागतो तो जेव्हा त्याला जाग येते, तेव्हा तो जंगलाबाहेर पडलेला असतो, व त्याच्या जखमेवर औषध लावलेले असते.

चिखलूवर खूप प्रेम करते गावातील एक मुलगी म्हणजे साळूताई. हिला लग्न करायचे नसते, पण हिचे आई वडील हिचे कोणाशी तर लग्न करून द्यायचे असा घाट घालत असतात. हिला मनाजोगता जोडीदार मिळाल्याशिवाय लग्न करणार नाही असे हिने ठरवलेले असते. चिखलू आणि साळू या दोघांची खूप मैत्री असते. चिखलूला समजून घेणारी त्याच्या आजी व्यतिरिक्त साळू हि एक मैत्रीण, ताई असते. साळू चीखालुला बरेचदा विचारते तो जंगलात का गेला, पण चिखलू काहीच सांगत नाही.

या प्रसंगानंतर चिखलूला वाटते कि भुत्या हा चांगला आहे. त्यामुळे चिखलू पुन्हा जंगलात जातो भूत्याचा शोध घ्यायला आणि एका अनपेक्षित क्षणी त्याची भूत्याशी भेट होते. शेवटी भुत्या हा नक्की कोण असतो, तो असा का वागतो हे बघायला मिळते पुढील सिनेमात. भुत्या आणि चिखलूची मैत्री, लोक कसे उगाचच कशाहीवर विश्वास ठेवतात हे बघा "पक पक पकाक"मध्ये.

चिखलू व भुत्याचे एकमेकांशी होणारी मैत्री, त्यांचे एकमेकांवरील प्रेम, चीखालुला भुत्या कसा नकळतपणे शिक्षण देतो, ते सगळे प्रसंग एकदम मस्त आहेत. नाना पाटेकर "भुत्या"च्या भूमिकेत खूपच मस्त. सक्षम कुलकर्णीचा चिखलू छान. फक्त त्याने जरा वजन कमी केले असते तर चांगले झाले असते, कारण गावात इतकी लठ्ठ मुले नसतात. सिनेमातील गाणी पण चांगली आहेत. सक्षम कुलकर्णीला या सिनेमासाठी AsianFestival of First Films (AFFF) चे बेस्ट अक्टर अवार्ड मिळाले आहे. लहान मुलांना घेऊन बघण्यासारखा सिनेमा आहे. सिनेमा छानच आहे. जरूर बघावा असा.

Pak Pak Pakak is a movie set in a small village. Chikahlu is a village boy, who has lost his parents at early age and is taken care by his grandmother. He is a very naughty kid, always playing mischiefs with all the villagers. He has lot of friends, but the parents of his friends are not allowing the kids to play with him, due to his reputation of naughty kid.

He has a good friend Salu. She is one of his neighbors, older than Chikhalu by few years. Her parents want her to get married, but she insists that she will marry only she finds a suitable man. Salu and Grandmother are the only two in village protecting Chikhalu, and who believe he is a good boy by heart but just a bit too naughty. Anything wrong in the village and the blame will be on Chikhalu.

Adjacent to the village s a forest. And all the villagers believe that there is a ghost in that village. People call it Bhutya. People have experienced strange things in the forest, which has led them to believe in Bhutya. Several people have tried unsuccessfully to find out about Bhutya. Finally they start worshiping Bhutya out of fear and belief that worshiping will protect them from the ghost.

One day, Chikhalu's teacher is irritated with his pranks and says why don't you visit Bhutya so that village will get rid from your pranks. This idea gets into fearless Chikhalu's head and he enters the forest with some of his friends. In few minutes, all the friends come out of the forest fearing Bhutya, and Chikhalu continues his adventure alone. But finally the silence and sound of different birds and animals induces fear in him. He starts to run back towards village but bumps on a low lying branch of a tree and gets unconscious. When he wakes up, he was just outside the forest with some herbal medicine applied to his wound.

Salu tries to get his reason for entering the forest and what happed with him, but Chikhalu wit fully avoids to answer. Salu is not convinced,but lets go for the time being. Chikhalu feels that Bhutya has helped him and decides to try to meet him again. He manages to enter the forest again and meets Bhutya. It will be spoiler to tell who Bhutya is and the story behind Bhutya's existence, how Chikhalu develops friendship with him.

Nana Patekar is really good in as Bhutya. Saksham Kulkarni has won awards for this role. He has acted really well throughout. Only things does not fit with the movie is his stout physique. Narayani Shastri is good as Salu. A must watch movie, specially if you want to watch with kids. Music is good too.
